This doesn't seem to include all our players. No Baxter? Isn't he or wasn't he rated four or five stars?

You're kidding me? In southern cali we beat out a bunch of dying programs in the mountains! Hip hip huzzah We spent about 20 years with five or so toes in the grave not too long ago. Why label them as dying? We've been decent for two whole years! And Wyoming has won a conference title in football more recently than we have and beat us last season if I recall correctly. And Sonny Lubick was much more recent than Don Coryell. It seems to me CSU also has more football conference titles than we do. I wouldn't count them out as dead quite yet.

We're about eight hours into a new recruiting class that seems to be decent and people are complaining already? One class alone means little. Four or five consecutive classes might mean something.

Interesting Scout has the top 2 in the MWC as BSU and SDSU, top 2 in Conference USA is Houston and SMU.

You're kidding me? In southern cali we beat out a bunch of dying programs in the mountains! Hip hip huzzah Well you can always become a USC fan. I don't know what you realistically expect, we've had two winning seasons in a row. First of all the ranking systems are utterly nonsense, if you went by the rankings UCLA usually gets they would be a top 10 team and Boise State would be terrible. TCU's as recruiting rankings were always crap until they became good, then they recruited the same kind of player some instead of being two stars they were three or four stars. I know some of these recruiting guys and most of them are dufus's like Greg Biggins. The only one I know that ever played college football was Jeff Duva who was to a walkon at SDSU along time ago. Cal is always in the top 20 of that recruiting lists to and they haven't been anything but mediocre in the last three years. The last two recruiting classes have a lot of quality football players in them, more than the last four classes combined before 2010. A good deal of the recruits in the last two years have had offers from PAC 12 schools. Biggest problem is and all that talent is still going to be awfully young. We had better running backs in the last two years than we did in the previous 10 years. I think we had a excellent recruiting class of linebackers last year and linemen offense and defense this year.

Steveem makes a good point about programs that get highly-rated recruits but don't show it on the field.
But I would hope we'd be ranked #2 in the MWC with that cast of characters!! Seriously, if we came in third I'd be ashamed:
1 Boise State 2 San Diego State 3 New Mexico 4 Air Force 5 UNLV 6 Wyoming 7 Colorado State
Most Surprising: New Mexico. Rated third in conference is unbelievable given the turmoil at that program.
Most Expected: San Diego State. For the reason stated above.
Most Disappointing: Colorado State. Things looked promising for a moment under Fairchild. That program is now sinking fast.
Most Consistent. Air Force. Every year they get quality football players. Never great. Never bad.
Most Uncertain. UNLV. A nominee for most disappointing coming in #5, but Hauck is just starting his third year. It's harder to build a football program in Vegas versus San Diego; it takes just 10 guys for a basketball game, but 88 or so for a football team.
Most Curious: Wyo. is similar to Air Force. Never great recruits but that team always plays tough. Always. I was concerned for Wyo a while back due to conference uncertainty and the fact that Austin Carter-Samuels left. However they had a great year last year. Seriously amazing. From 3-8 with ACS to 8-3 without him while being led by a true freshman QB. Yes - the same Wyo team that came to San Diego and beat us here.

We heard all of that about Wyoming after their '09 season when they beat us at home by a similar margin. All we heard is how they were going to beat us in '10 with their returning freshman QB. We will beat them in Laramie this year just like we did in '10.

I always love the way posters state opinions as fact. Marginal D1 talent? You, nor I, have any idea how good these recruits will be. That's what makes recruiting fun to follow.

Once the big time TV deals start coming, more guys will want to come here. I'm happy with what we got this year and I'm excited to see these guys play in the next 4-5 years.

Are Monty & Ohioaztec the same?
They both have bashed the recuriting throughout the process.
#2 is good by me as there are numbers (both players and '*'s) on the DL & OL.
Not glamorous or flashy, but VERY solid for the future in BE as the trenches are going to be critical in the future. These 'new' Aztecs are going to be ready come BE time which is most likely why Rocky went this direction now vs. next year.
Let the kids come in and play and let that be the final determination Monty & Ohio.
