What part of this is all BS don't you about guys understand. It's exactly as Rocky stated as it's a business it's a hype. It's all icon there are tens of thousands of college football players and I doubt there's a total of more than 50 recruiting experts. You do know the story that several of the coaches about 10 years ago invented a recruit a game in name like Bobby Joe Smith. Then they told the recruiting services each one of them that he was high on their list. Then they invented of make believe high school out in the boondocks. The guy appeared in almost all the recruiting magazine as a super stud. The whole thing was hilarious. The recruiting services are about as real as professional wrestling. Rocky tells a funny story about a friend of his recruited a kid who was two stars got a last minute offer from a big time program and immediately became four stars. It's horse manure something to keep people paying $9.00 a month for nothing. excellent post - thanks, we needed that what a joke to have grown men pay money and argue over whether some Otackle from Omaha is 131 or 133 at his position. Of much more interest is the scary corelation between the huge recruiting budgets of most SEC schools, their annual haul of "top" recruits and their eventual winning records - it would never happen but what fun it could be if all college sports had a spending cap...

These stars and ranks are given over what, 2 HS seasons? These guys have 4-5 years in college to get better so the rankings really don't mean much. Vincent Brown was 2 stars...

But it's been repeated many times, "you can't teach speed". And even discounting bias and inflated stats, most of the schools in the top 20 (recruits) have a stacked lineup of speed, compared to us (we're in the bottom 3rd in the "rankings"). I'm hoping this will change, but it won't unless we find ways to consistently go to bowls. Good start over the past two years, but if we falter...
