If his Bro had picked the Aztecs he would have played in the Sweet 16 and the Aztecs might have advanced even further. And this year Big Bro would have been "The Man" up front for the Aztecs. I think Bro basically blew it!
UNM didn't get nearly so far last year and are not likely to get that far this year. Gordon's best shot was right where his Daddy played and by now he should have figured that out.
Eddy, Take Aaron aside and point out the error of his brothers choice. He should be taking a very serious look @ the Aztecs if he wants to go deep in March!

This is the "Next Blake Grifin" guy, right? Anyone see how he was at the Torrey Pines Tournament?

LOL. Funny because it's so true. I wouldn't be surprised if both UW and Arizona had assistants follow him around full-time. They've both been aggressively recruiting him for much longer than us.

Wish we wouldn't waste our time or resoures recriting gordon I would almost agree. We do need to go after the bigger fish though. But we do need to focus on players we actually have a chance to get.

You guys need to adjust your small-time thinking. Of course we should go after him. We are the best program in the west. If we didn't go after him, I would be really pissed.

Washington and UofA are the top two on his list.
I do not know what that article says, I am not an ASR member. I don't mind using resources to recruit him, but I do hope we give it a good shot.

for as good as we are, why is it that we never land the big recruits; yet we always go on to beat the teams that land the big recruits. Wouldnt there come a time that these recruits know that they're making the wrong decisions? It just seems ridiculous that we're as good with a bunch of three star guys than these teams that land 5 star guys.

Wouldnt there come a time that these recruits know that they're making the wrong decisions? It just seems ridiculous that we're as good with a bunch of three star guys than these teams that land 5 star guys. Although we had more than a handful of 20 win seasons prior, last year seriously put us on the national map for the first time (obviously). Not only did we break into the rankings, but we won our first NCAA tourney game ever last year as well. We are seeing the culture change on the mesa, but we have to give it time, and most importantly, we have to keep winning (which we are) and make the NCAAs continuously if we want top recruits. With all that said, Matt Shrigley is arguably the best recruit San Diego has ever held on to, and I am honored and excited he chose to stay. Skyler Spencer is no joke either! SDSU is clearly KING of SD when it comes major college sports. Right now, we are landing the type of recruits that I expected relative to the successes we have seen. I have no doubt that we will land a 5-star recruit in the future, we just have to bepatient, and most importantly, keep winning no matter where we play. Here's to hoping we land Pelle or Shepard, and if we do, and we are even more successful with them in the lineup, that would really open the door to landing top recruits in the future -- a quick shout out to Kawhi for getting that rolling. For now, I am happy that our "3-star" recruits are winning. To me, it's more of a sign of our great coaches. We are fortunate to have Fisher and Co. at the helm.

We have a shot at anyone. It really comes down to a winning attitude, which I believe we have. I still am in awe over how much last year did for SDSU. Winning is contagious. None of us expected us to win the games that we have this year or at least how many, giving our history prior to last year. But, they did. I only want players that want to be at SDSU, it is something special.

for instance, beating Arizona at Arizona. Did any of you see their recruiting class last year? This year? We beat them at their home court in a season that was suppose to be a regrouping year for the Aztecs. We've beaten every team out west that we've played. I'm sure when those "big-time recruits" play us, they come into the game thinking that they've got the game won just by stepping out onto the court. I love that State can stake claim to best in the west.

We're recruiting this kid for the bounce back. Definitely not a waste of resources getting to know this kid.
