I think the "6th Man of the Year" award is more likely. So where did you get insider information that the MWC would be creating a new award this year - for "Most Improved Player?" Finally, Green will be good, but I also think it is a longshot he gets second team, possibly Newcomer of the Year though (but Thames will be in the running for that as well).

Well if you're considering Jamaal will be the 6th man then you obviously don't have any inside info. He'll start the day he steps on the court and he'll be our best all around player. As for most improved...Award or not, it will be obvious. The 2nd team may be a bit off but i'd love to hear any disputes about the 1st team...

Okay, so now you have "inside info" he will start game 1 over Tapley, Thames, and Rahon, even after the recent DUI charge? Sorry, I am now regretting I even commented on this thread - your "man crush" for Jamaal is just over the top. I do know it would be awesome for Jamaal to play well enought to be a first teamer. He definitely has the athleticism.

He'll start as soon as his short suspension is over....that is if charges ever get filed. But an entire season worth of Jamaal and it will be impossible to keep him out of the starting line up. I see Tapley as a 1st team performer, Jamaal can do more than Tapley at both ends of the floor. Tapley is guaranteed point. Jamaal is guaranteed point, rebounds, defense, special teams..etc! lol

MWC lacks talented Bigs. Gordon is a stellar shot blocker...Gordon will avg at leat 15pts, 10rbs and 3blks. That's good enough for MVP and DPOY, especially if New Mexico wins it all like predicted. But if you compare him to all the draft elidgilbe bigs...he doesn't impress as much. For example....Chase Tapley should be All MWC....but is he NBA talent? No.

I will be very surprised if anyone from SDSU makes the first teeam. I'll say that Thames might make second team.

He averaged 8 or 9 points the last two seasons in a row and I can't remember seeing him take a single shot that I thought was greedy or in any way indicative of someone who would ever be a black hole. Quite the opposite, I feel like he made the extra pass a little too often the last two seasons.

Chase will be a black hole for good reason...he is a sure shot and this is a break out year for him where he will be the primary threat for the 1st time in his College career. He, his teammates and the coaching staff will want him to be shoot 1st...and that's exactly what he will do.

Do not mess with BBall Analyst. He brings much lively discussion to the board and I am pleased that he is now acknowledging the other players on our team. I commend him for seeing that Chase will step up this year in addition to J Franklin.
I do believe that second team status for X and Green is optimistic, which I like and hope happens because that will spell great season for the Aztecs.

Thames and Green both have a great chance for the "newcomer" award.

Chase has been the most unselfish basketball player in the Fisher era considering his talent and individual skill.
