Wow. If Air Force and Boise left, we'd be left with:
SDSU UNLV Wyoming Fresno St. Nevada New Mexico Colorado St. Hawaii
Terrible! Didn't the MWC recently increase their penalty fee for wanting to leave the conference?

Boise St. and SDSU would be a great combo to join the Big 12 especially now that San Diego will have its own Fox Sports channel.

Boise isn't going to the Big 12. All that have is a football team that is going to go on probation. No TV market.

the commissoner better be keeping all the Universities on board and trying his best to keep TCU from going. the Conference needs a true leader , thats what he is paid to do or we need to find someone who can

If the rumors about Boise St. and Air Force do come true, I hope our president and AD are making some serious calls about SDSU's future, because the MWC is not it.
Our location in the "fertile" recruiting grounds of SoCal and pretty decent media market helps to make us more attractive. But more attractive than the BIG12's other options like BYU, Louisville, and W. Virginia? I'm not so sure.

I think his point was that IF SDSU were to go to the BIG12, airing our games on FSN San Diego would be such an easy transition since the BIG12 has their TV deal with Fox Sports.

Really? The big 12 will pick up Boise? Because they have shown such monetary restraint in the past. Adding a small potatoes (haha) market and having to divvy up another piece of the pie when not a lot is being added.
I don't see it.
And all these rumors are just one person saying it. It's not like its coming from an actual source.

I see Air Force leaving b-4 Boise. If they both leave we will be forced to merge with Conference USA.
Also, I fee sorry for the air force players...that is some ridiculous travel to add to their already brutal daily schedule as cadets.
The MTN just tweeted this: "MSR @ 5:30MT Big News out of Boise State regarding the future of their football program"

I talked to the pres. of SDSU at the Michigan game and he told me that SDSU had been contacted by a couple of conferences in regards to expansion as recent as all the OU, TX, Ok state & TT to PAC16 talk the week prior. So take it for what it's worth and know that at least the SDSU admin is not sitting on it hands. This little bit of info. doesn't mean anything other than what he said and that means that we are at least in the conversation on the expansion front. At least that is what I took from it. On a side note he came across as a pretty genuine person.

Hmm, why sign this now if they are headed to the B12?
In addition, AFA's AD is one of the 3 AD's at the CUSA summit. If I was AFA, I would have begged out of that duty if I was looking at the B12 especially with Neinas as the moderator and now B12 commisioner.
That would be a fun lawsuit to see in the courts.

I would go west not east but it's not happening because it makes too much sense.

It's a function of the national press, where we have no presence. Among those who are actually doing the talking, they know about us. I am still puzzled by this AFA to the Big-12 talk. They would be lousy in everything but football and perhaps barely able to keep their heads above water in that. Unlike an SDSU or Utah, I doubt that joining a more prestigious conference would do much for their recruiting since getting into a military academy is a whole different thing. Also, isn't Colorado pretty much dominated media-wise by the Univ. of Colo.?
Hey, I admit I'm an Aztec fan, but I still say that SDSU has a lot to offer the Big-12. UNLV would be a good partner, but the currently pathetic state of their FB program is troubling.

As I mentioned on a post last week, I seriously doubt Air Force's national presence. I'd bet it's really far less than Navy or Army. However, the Big Whatever can make the pitch to some TV guy who just might buy it.
If the Big 12ish comes our way, also look for a travel partner to go with us, say Boise. I doubt much of any of this happens.

I would go west not east but it's not happening because it makes too much sense. I agree LA, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever from a business standpoint. The Longhorn Network is floudering, and what better to pump life back into it by getting a piece of the California TV market. Then there is the ripe recruiting fields in California which they can further benefit from with more exposure in California. We already have a top tiered basketball program, and the footbnall program is on the way up...hopefully. Outside of the good football program what else does Boise offer the Big 12 over San Diego? Who in the Big 12 wouldn't want to have more exposure in California?...I know Bob Stoops sure does.
