I've been traveling and didn't have an opportunity to address any threads the last couple of days. I just wanted to address the "exposed" comment. We played the game with our starting 2G out and our first front court sub out. I think that had a lot to do with the outcome of this game. Tapley is a very good defensive player as is Shelton. I don't think we where exposed, maybe exploited, but not exposed. UNLV saw an opportunity to take advantage of Tapley and Shelton both out and some early front line foul trouble. I think were okay on the defensive side of the ball. This is in no way a slap at Tapley, so please, no one should take it that way: I think the reality is that Tapley is the starter by default, but Tapley and Rahon are 1 and 1a. They've split time all year long fairly evenly, and both are very capable players. So it's not surprising that there would be little to no drop off in performance from the 2 guard position. Nothing was "exposed" with regard to not having Tapley available. The only thing the team was missing was the depth provided by having Rahon off the bench. Nothing more. Could be. I don't share your opinion on Tapley versus Rahon's defense. I think Tapley is the better defender, but that's my opinion. I think Tapley is much more versatile on defense than Rahon, and that's no slap at Rahon either as I love his play. I just think Tapley is quicker cutting into passing lanes, rebounds better, blocks more shots and has quicker hands. And, yes, they exploited our lack of depth with the loss of both Tapley and Shelton.

UNLV is a very good defensive team when they get into their half court set. Any win in on the road vs. that good of an opponent is a terrific win. The team should be proud, they made fts at the end of he game to win it, while forcing the Rebels to make some tough shots at the end of the game.
Get healthy and finish strong SDSU.

What really got exposed is our excellent free throw shooting to ice the game Teams we play will now not go into the "foul game" and be forced to play defense. Word! +1 I've seen countless posts this season about how our FTSing was gonna cost us a close game. To those posters: how's 20 for 22 on the road FTW lookin?

Rahon hustles on defense, and he's impressed me with his increased ability, but he's no where the player on defense Tapley is

Tapley is a better defender than Rahon though. IMHO, Tapley is one of, if not the best all-around player on the team, i.e., (1) Can play the point (2) Can Play Off Guard (3) Can Play Swing Man (4) Good Defender (5) Good 2 and 3 point shooter and drives and slashes (6) Great nose for the ball and always hustles (7) Great attitude and fits the unselfish player model The fact that we won twice without him speaks volumes about our depth, but this is one guy I would dread not having in the Big Dance. Please do not read into this that I don't appreciate Rahon's game. They are both part of a puzzle and the pieces add up to a beautiful picture.

Dude is shooting 62.4% on his 2 pointers this season. For a guard that is incredible. Shoot more Chase please.
