Baxter did the right thing in reporting contact by other schools. My question about him, is how he factored the coming huge penalty into his choice of schools. Just what did USC tell him about the allegations about Bush and Mayo and how it could affect the football program at USC. How honest was the USC recruiting and what kind of judgment did Dillon Baxter use? I was at Southwestern in the rain for the CIF final game he played. He is a real talent and I hope he has not made a poor choice in a college.

I beleive when a school is hit with strong NCAA sanctions athletes can transfer without sitting out a year. Here is the dream scenario:
1) after all the dust settles The MWC comes out of it all stronger and is the final BCS Conference (could very well happen)
2) The strong relationship that Hoke and his famil (including wife and kids) built with Baxter pays off and he transfers to S-D_S_U.
Please don't wake me up.

Here's another scenario..MWC Faithful think about this....the conferences are making their moves. Colorado leaves big 12, to go to pac 10... nebraska goes to big 10...Mwc adds boise st. and lets wyoming & air force go...big 12 lets iowa st and missouri go. The mountain west should merge with big 12 and have a Super Conference with two divisions west, southwest or north and south, whatever you want to call them.
West
bsu byu colo st n mex sdsu tcu unlv utah
Southwest
ut ou tx tec tx am osu baylor kan k st
If we let teams like tex, ou,tex am, tx tec, osu etc. go to the pac 10, were setting ourselves up for the same thing we currently have. If we dont do this, other conferences are going to realign and the mwc could get left out in the wind... Mwc commissioner should make a move! This could be great for SDSU! This will be a great football, basketbal & baseball conference...Yahooo! Get it out there!

I don't know if the Conference would let Air Force and Wyoming go. If in fact the Big 12 could keep it's BCS automatic bid in tact, we might have the entire MWC merge with the six that are left after the big jump to the Pac 10 by the teams led by Texas. This has been speculated and sort of makes sense. They could keep the name and charter in place if that was important and then change the name to the Mountain Mid West or something. This thread has changed from about Dillon Baxter and I have helped.

I beleive when a school is hit with strong NCAA sanctions athletes can transfer without sitting out a year. Isaac Curtis played his senior year at SDSU after Cal got slapped with violations so yeah, they don't have to sit out a year. =Bob

looks like it was all bogus www.latimes.com/sns-ap-fbc-usc-apology,0,3200773.story " Southern California has apologized to Florida, Alabama, Washington, Oregon and Fresno State for accusing those schools of breaking NCAA rules by contacting one of the Trojans' players without permission"
