Ha. Idiots.
Seems they've got a minor case of the BCS flu...or amnesia or something.
I used to live in the DFW area back in the mid 90's...and TCU sucked! They were the dregs of the 16 team WAC. They were not even a blip on the radar in their own city. They were and are owned by Texas Longhorns.
They are at any one time of being a couple of seasons away from irrelevancy themselves...again.

You would think there is only one sport in the Mountain West Conference? No discussion on how SDSU's basketball teams destroy TCU each and every year.

Ok, maybe you want to get rid of the schools in the middle of nowhere, but why SDSU and UNLV? Only your biggest TV markets and best places to visit on road trips. If all this movement is based on money, that would be a really bad idea.

Looks like the majority are grateful the MWC "saved them" and no one should be dumped.
Best regards, Albert

I said earlier in the week or last week (who knows? this has been a blur) that they are just like boise: new money, unless you are 85 years old. We all read The Great Gatsby in school, does Jay Gatsby or Tom Buchanan end up with Daisy? New money buys parties and plastic friends, but it doesn't get the big prize and when you mess with old money you get ruined.

Not all of the posters agreed. I don't take much offense. I just think he is flat out wrong.
I also find it strange that a TCU fan would have the audacity to suggest dumping some of the very schools that saved their bacon by voting them into the MWC in the first place.
They also completely discount our basketball program and underestimate entirely the value of our location for both recruiting and tv market exposure.
Not to mention SDSU is no longer a slouch from an academic and research perspective.

However, the guy who started the thread and a few other TCU fans on the MWC board would throw half the conference under the proverbial bus at the drop of a hat. All I'm saying is that enough Frogs have come out of the woodwork the last week and shown their true colors - contrary to fans of BYU and Utah, BTW - that if they reflect the attitude of their school's AD or president, Jim Sterk and Steve Weber should be very careful in their dealings with those guys.

I agree. Weber must be careful here. This is essentially the wild west. Our revolver may be rusty and falling apart, but we can survive if we take proper precautions. Not all of the posters agreed. TCU controls zero % of their media market, if they think this is all on field performance they do not have a clue.
Kansas and KU have been good on the field recently but are being left behind.
If I was TCU, I would check the Nielsen ratings before popping off about kicking people out of conferences.
But what the hell, if they don't know why the SWC left them out before they will never get it.

We're dragging the conference down. They don't want to be lumped in with a team that loses to Cow Poly and 70-7 to New freakin' Mexico.
Didn't we do the same thing when it came to ditching the WAC? If there's an opportunity to move up, you seize it - no big deal.

Based upon our performance on the field they are correct. However, we have one of the bigger media markets and recruiting areas so they are dead wrong in the final analysis.

This is like international politics. There are no friends, just countries with common interests. I don't think TCU has many, maybe any, common interests with anyone else in the MWC. The only thing that makes them attractive to me as a fan is they are good at football, for eventual BCS purposes, and suck at basketball.
