insider.espn.go.com/nba/blog?name=nba_draft&id=6033716Basically the start of the article talks about scouts are very unhappy about this year's draft class and therefore looking for hidden gems.. Kawhi Leonard is the first person listed. At this point every team has scouted him multiple times and while still raw in some areas, he physical tools and work ethic are there. He has also shown much more skill this year and compared him to Shawn Marion My Take : It makes sense for him to leave this year (unless there is going to be lockout) since I think with his draft workouts he'll move himself up to a lottery pick. Teams will realize that he can play today in the NBA from a rebounding and defensive standpoint and that he will continue to develop his outside shot.

Kawhi is a stud, we all know that. But do you guys think he will be getting a lot of PT in the NBA if he is only shooting 30% from mid- to long-range? It just seems they are going to be expecting him to perform that part of his game much more than he does at SDSU. A lot of the NBA's best three point shooters are playing the three spot, and of course the 3FG line is even further out.
Chse Buddinger is a good example. A stud in college and expected to be the 3FG man in the NBA, but somewhat struggling. Plus his stroke is much better than Kawhi's right now.

The Arizona kid and Kawhi is not a good comparison. Kawhi is more athletic and can create is own shot while the Arizona Kid, jump shooting is his forte. All around player versus a jump shooter - bad comparison.

Check out this video, his head is above the rim on this put back dunk:

That one follow up shot doesn't show that much athleticism. It only shows he can jump high.

If you listed to the recent Katz/Gotleib podcost the refer to Chase has having good leaping ability but not being a great athlete (for the NBA). I think that is where you would deliniate the two players. That being said, Leonard can play in the NBA right now as someone off the bench for 15-20 a game just playing D, rebounding and scoring in transition. I don't think Leonard will ever be an elite scorer in the NBA (nor does he have to).
