This will kill the WAC. Bye, Bye SJSU football I would hate to see that happen. SJSU has a longer history of playing football than do we, and they were playing at the highest level long before the Aztecs. (On the other hand, St. Mary's and Santa Clara used to play in major bowl games and that fact did not save their FB programs!) California is the least hospitable state when it comes to launching college football programs. In fact, CA has lost nearly 20 programs since about 1970. In the same period of time, there have been NO new programs. (Menlo College became a 4 year school and USD and Chapman restarted long dormant programs. But you don't see any of the newer schools, such as Dominguez Hills or CSU Bakersfield even contemplating FB. Thanks to Title IX and, especially, the CAL-NOW deal, we are unlikely EVER to see a new college football program in this state.) There is no doubt that San Jose is the weakest of the CA college football programs. I'm hoping that the Spartans will somehow muddle through. I'd hate to lose them as a frequent opponent. Losing Fullerton and Long Beach has meant that SDSU must travel farther and play better teams, making it tougher to record winning records. AzWm

Boise St is making major strides overall as a university - and is benefitting from Boise being one of the few growing, vibrant (I know, hold your laughter, it's true) cities in the "mountain west" region.
They will remain strong in football, and gradually improve in other sports as well as overall academics.

How ever things fall out, I prefer an odd number of members in the conference unless we divide an even number into two odd number divisions. It makes for even number of home and away confernce games.

This is not evidence, still only speculation. Not only do I find Fox media lacking credibility, but they don't name names as to who from the MWC contacted the Boise media. It's very shoddy journalism and would give this article credence. I see this as no different from their typical teaser, "details at eleven."
