I feel like pretty much every time we go after a big name local recruit he gives the the obligitory third spot. "I am down to insert BCS powerhouse, insert BCS powerhouse, and SDSU" Somehow we never get picked.

It only takes one to make history ... Heyward will become a legend in his hometwon if he stays!!! There is so much publicity surrounding State right now. The whole city would be following Heyward's career.

Should Rocky stop trying?
Can't hit the ball if you don't swing the bat.

I can think of another local talent by the name of La'Roi Glover. All-CIF, second team All-America at Pt. Loma. Had a pretty decent college career at some small town college and was a six time Pro-Bowler in the NFL. It's not like it never happens. Just that it's time for another player to step to the plate.

Should Rocky stop trying? Can't hit the ball if you don't swing the bat. More than that it seems to me that just having SDSU in the conversation with a stud like that makes us more impressive to the next lower rung of recruits.

If you stop trying you have no chance at getting these type of recruits. As long as there's a chance, as slim as it might be it's worth the effort. All it takes is 1 to get the ball rolling, then maybe it becomes 2, then 3 etc.
At least these kids have SDSU as an option, it's a lot better than being completely disregarded or laughed at.

We have a great shot at Heyward, hopefully Rocky Can pull him in. I'm not sure of whOregon's scholarships but SC is just about out of room. Have 3-4 schollies remaining for Lee, Walker, Dawson, Hobbi, Niklas or White. More than likely, Heyward is not a high priority.

I'd like to think there's a difference between trying to get the likes of Tyler Gaffney and Ricky Seale to commit to an SDSU team with a losing record (the last couple years) than trying to attract Heyward and Stefan McClure to a team coming off a 9-4 record (despite the coaching changes)

If the 2011 football season under Rocky is no worse than 2010, that will go a long way to showing folks that what Brady started is moving forward, and the Aztec program is here to be reckoned with. There could be a "wait and see" thing going on w/ some of these guys.

As long as he doesn't list Michigan then I'm not to depress about it.
