• Fan support is great. They have about 3,500 students at each game. Had 2,500 at the games when school was out of session. There's also great support from the community. Fish said he's had people come out of the woodwork to tell him they've been supporting the team and going to games since he first got here 12 years ago. Fish said if that were true there would've been 50,000 people at each game in 1999.
• Kaplan says he's is out in the driveway last night playing hoops with his kid. His kid had the ball, and do you know what he says? Fish chimes in: “I know. D-J-GAAAAY!”
• This is the best Zoomie team since they're really good ones a few years back. They were up by 5 to UNLV in Vegas with 5 min. to play before Vegas went on a 13-0 run to end the game. Not looking past the Zoomies.
• Nice thing about this team is that it’s lead by seniors and is run by DJ Gay, who’s unflappable. Team will be ready and will play hard. The last two practices Mon. and Tues. have been the best two practices all season in terms of alertness, mental energy, etc. The reason why is because they know where they are and are very excited. Fish told them they are in rarified air in an area where very, very few athletes ever experience. Let's make the most of it.
• Thought of the day: Be extraordinary. That means, let's do something special so we can look back on this time and really be proud. Let's do something that people will remember and talk about for a long time.
• BR tells fish that one pundit has picked SDSU as No. 1 seed. Fish said he doesn't even want to know who the guy is. There's a long, long way to go. The team has a lot of work to do. Wants the team to stay alert and focused. It's hard not to think about the BYU game next week, but he wants everyone thinking only of the Zoomie game tonight.
