I'm just thankful we have someplace to come together as Aztec fans. Erik is right, please suggest things as they have shown they are willing to make changes. The board started off being blue (which I'm sure borg liked), but someone suggested that they change it to red and bamn, it was done. Let's give William and Erik a fair chance to handle a board like this. I'm sure it's tough to run a fan board with monitoring this and that.
My first suggestion was to vote on the other thread about whether to include MWC talk on the Aztec section. I voted yes. To me it is very important considering it will be concerning us in the future, JMO
As for the action on here, we can discuss whatever we want as long as we bring it up whether it's "What happened to Evan Burns" or "who was the better player, Michael Cage or Brandon Heath" or whatever.
Also another suggestion to all who post. Don't piss off the posters who bring great info (bekays, cvtower, I forget who else) and insight to this board. Our board will be real empty if we run them off, thanks Aztec fans!

Well, yeah, that's exactly why I started AztecMesa. This is not really a newsflash. Whatever the reason, this board now has attracted quite a few members (seven times more than we had as of the morning of May 28th) in just 2 weeks and continues to attract many others who are just visitors. In fact, we are pulling in about 1,000 a day, including both registered members and visitors. Whether AztecMesa continues to expand depends on a number of factors. I can tell you this, we will do what we can to boost the fortunes of this site.
As far as the name is concerned, that issue is somewhat complicated. When I get info on that I will pass it along.
Erik and I will be putting our heads together to make positive changes.

I think you guys are doing a great job and look forward to the future with this site. Thanks for stepping up. My only suggestions are:
- Combine the MWC and Aztec categories into one.
- Have more thread titles per page... it seems like I'm always having to go to the next page of threads.
- Change the logo at the top (PM if you would like help with this)
- Transfer the aztectalk.com domain if possible. Aztectalk.com is linked to from a lot of web resources (ie MWC Board, etc)
Other than that, this is usually a dead time.

Does the free version of proboards not allow for subforums? (like it was for Aztectalk).
I also think there are too many forums, the Aztec and MWC forums can be merged, also do you really need 4 political forums, I mean this is no longer a mostly political forum anymore, seems unnecessary, 1 political forum would cover it.
And Off topic can be merged with Pro sports and High school sports, maybe even college sports.
Also do you really need a forum telling people to go elsewhere for music and tv etc? Can't that be a pinned topic in Off topic?
That would cut the number of forums in half.
But that's just my opinion, not sure how others feel about it.

Long term stability is what is needed most, and it seems like Erik and William will offer that - each time we jump boards like a bunch of vagabonds it takes some time to get them up and running and we lose more fans in the process. I know little to nothing about the internet, websites and searches, but I'm sure some people do, is there a way to make this board come up first if someone googles aztectalk or aztec board or aztec forum, etc?
And by the way, the MWC board has been a better source of information than any board or source in the country - every leak, article, and hint has been posted in minutes. I've been checking that board before anything.

AztecWilliam and B5Eric stay the course my friends. I for one am absolutely thrilled you two have given us a site to once again call home for all Aztec news and information.

I agree. This board is not very good and makes me not even want to read it. The domain name is horrible and so is the design. We need to do whatever it takes to get AztecTalk.com back. You could always stop reading it and go away. |

If the board is a morgue doesn't that reflect on the posters to that board? I fail to see anything in the "mechanics" of the board that make it less desirable.

I'm seeing some good suggestions which we will consider very carefully. And we really appreciate the expressions of support.
Give us a few days to come up with a major overhaul. I will be out of town from Friday until Monday, but in the interim Erik may well make more changes as a result of conversations between the two of us before then. In some cases we will probably solicit comments from the fans before taking action.
