Undwerwood is rated a a 3 star player on rivals. Not that ratings mean a lot, but do you know who else was a 3 star recruit on our team. Try Billy White, Chase Tapley, and Xavier Thames. Malcolm Thomas and James Rahon were only a 2 star recruits and DJ Gay was not even ranked. Underwood may not have done much at Missouri, but obviously someone thought he was pretty good in High School. This guy could end up being very good if you compare him to these other players that came out of high school with similar or less acalades. Give me one player on our current roster (that has played) that was rated as a 3 star recruit on rivals that has not ended up being an impact player?

Missouri was a good team with 1 senior and 2 juniors playing ahead of Underwood. LBF and Jamaal are hardly getting time their freshman years, but it doesn't mean they won't be solid (if not major) contributors in years to come.
But most importantly the missouri coach said underwood worked tremendously hard this off-season, that he could see him improve every practice, and he was sorry to see him leave. Unlike the coach at Cal who basically told Gary Franklin "don't let the door hit you're ass on the way out" ... yet many of us wanted that guy?

My entire point was that he didn't look like he was progressing. I am sure his coach would say good things about him, but that doesn't necessarily mean he would turn out to be a good player. By their 2nd year, White, Rahon, Tapley and Thames had proven that they would be at least solid contributors at the D1 level. Underwood hadn't done it yet. There could be many reasons why he wasn't doing as well statistically and he may turn into a super player. I just don't think SDSU should be taking those kinds of risks at this point.

He didn't get much of a chance at Missouri because he had older more experienced players in front of him. White, Rahon, and Tapley all got major minutes when they got here because they didn't have anyone in front of them. If he were to come to sdsu he would get a chance for major minutes because of who we have leaving.
