I gotta think that, like basketball attendance, sales of SDSU hats, t-shirts, shot glasses, pullovers, beanies, etc are all going through the stratosphere based on what hoops is doing and what football has done.
This week especially, with the students coming back to campus with a red-hot undefeated Top 10 basketball team, I should think AztecShops is having very good movement of merchandise out the door. Traffic at Fashion Valley AztecStore should also have increased.
On-line sales and sales from other places carrying licensed gear (Ralphs, Target, CostCo, etc) should be filling SDSU coffers with much-need $$.
Of course, when people start selling cheap unlicensed knock-offs, you'll know we've really arrived!!

Was down at the Fashion Valley store yesterday and picked up a couple of shirts(just what I needed to add to the pile I have in my closet). There was a steady stream of people going in and out while I was there. dads with their kids picking up things. A good sign!

It would help if the Aztec Shops re-stock after x-mas. That place was raided and there was nothing left in regular sizes. They need to order more of the nicer polo shirts and nike/UA stuff too, plus why not offer the BB jersey at the store so people can order it there?.

Rocked my Aztec gear at Disneyland the other day. Got a few "Go Aztecs!" and other folks who mentioned our "really good basketball team".
The question is - how many of the Kawhi jerseys have they pre-sold?

The SDSU Bookstore/Aztec Shops online website sucks too. Someone totally needs to revamp that. They hardly show anything for sale that they have in the actual stores. Fox did a news story that touched a little bit on this, but didn't have exact figures: www.fox5sandiego.com/news/kswb-aztec-fever,0,7154641.story

I think there was one SDSU gear advertisement that included an Under Armour windbreaker jacket, but once I entered the AztecShops site...jacket nowhere to be found

The only way we'll get more products produced is if the team keeps playing like it's been playing, and if it appears the demand is really there. ...Okay,follow me here: It's a reach,I know,I know, but if one of us influential alumni can get on the phone and get Eddie Murphy to reprise his role as Axel Foley in a new Beverly Hills Cop sequel, and then in place of him wearing some dumb Mumford Phys Ed Dept sweat shirt,we replace that top with an SDSU red and black athletic one (Think product placement here, fellas -- PRODUCT PLACEMENT!),sales would go through the roof on at least one type of top. It'd become vogue to wear an SDSU athletic top.Ya think? No? Yes? Okay, maybe that was a bit of a reach,so how 'bout...Let me think here...Hmmmm? ...Crystal Harris...SDSU alumnus...Engaged to Hugh Hefner...High profile wedding...(someone has to know her?)...GOT IT!!! How about if we get Crystal Harris to wear a red and black SDSU wedding gown when she marries Hugh? Homerun!!! Wedding gown draws raves.Hugh and Playboy Enterprises get the publicity they want.Crystal gets a new spread. And SDSU get's more free pub.Everybody wins! I love it! See, you guys just got think OUTSIDE the box.As a former business teacher use to tell us, There are no problems, just creative opportunities.Okay, now let's get to work on tackling our nation's debt... Okay, time for another Corona.
