That table is a much better indicator of SOS than RPI's SOS.
1. RPI's SOS uses a totally different formula to determine how tough an opponent is. That formula is only used due to convinence of not having a circular calculation. So RPI is a much better indication of true strength of your opponent.
2. Team's shouldn't be given credit for losing. The strength of who you lost to is totally irrelavant in an effort to determine how good you are. Not only is the Aztec wins better than all the other teams, the Aztecs also had those wins away from home much more. Some teams have had 12 games at home and only 2 road games, while the Aztecs have played most of their games away from home and more games on opponents courts than at home. By these stats, my rating has the Aztecs as the top team in the country - by a wide margin.

5 of the bottom 8 teams are Big 12 teams. That conference seems to have made a concerted effort to schedule weak teams at home in OOC play. I hope, but doubt, they will be punished by the selection committee.

I just recalculated our RPI without having played USD. USD W/L 1-15 = .0625 Opponent's W/L .4872 Yummy .20406 (.0625 * (2/3) + .4872 (1/3)) New SDSU SOS without USD .5958 #10 (.5728 * 17 - .20406) / 16. New RPI using new SOS .6969 #1 (.5958 * (3/4) + 1 * (1/4)) We would be #1 .0071 RPI points ahead of Kansas instead of being .0102 RPI points behind them. USD Cost us .0173 RPI points. Pity St Mary's and Gonzaga.
