I live in Pacific Beach, am on Time Warner Cable, and still don't get The Mtn. And don't tell me to get Direct TV.

Direct TV on the coast is impossible with the marine layer.
My advice, get a slingbox and a friend in the inland area. Or go to the All American Grill.

I'm sure someone can find the number, but I believe the reason a deal hasn't been signed with TW is that the price they're asking is exorbitant.

Time Warner is the only company that is known to have negotiation issues over and over again. They recently almost got rid of ABC, Disney and ESPN channels for goodness sake! They also had issues with Fox in 2010 and we all know about the NFL Network drama. I'm not sure why I am still a TWC customer.

What does the marine layer have to do with DirecTV? I've lived five miles from the coast for years and am subject to the marine layer all the time. It never affects DirecTV. The ONLY times I've ever had problems is when it rains REALLY HARD. And we all know how often that is.

I found the story to be somewhat interesting. But he never got to the main point about the status of negotiations with Time Warne .

What a crock. I don't want to hear about how great the mtn. is and how I can watch it in Colo. Springs any time I want and how SDSU was never on TV in 1977 and how Time-Warner is mean and how I can put up a satellite dish if I want. All I care about is turning on my TV and watching an Aztec game. And right now, when I turn on my TV, I often don't see an Aztec game. The mtn. has failed to secure broadcast rights in the biggest market in its conference. That's f'ing stupid. Quit writing rebuttals and get this deal with T-W fixed.

A family in Sacramento (for instance) can watch every conference game on TV. I wonder if that is the case with PAC-10 teams? NOT.

I'm sure someone can find the number, but I believe the reason a deal hasn't been signed with TW is that the price they're asking is exorbitant. Consider too that TW still refuses to carry the NFL Network, while just about every other major carrier in the U.S. has put it in their lineup. If the fees were so unreasonable, then I find it hard to believe that carriers would be jumping at the chance to feature it. This is a Time Warner thing, and it's nationwide with them. This is the way they do business.

Why can Atlanta get a contract for The Mtn but Time-Warner can't get one in San Diego? I have to think the problem is with Time Warner.

I care about one thing: A very large portion of San Diego County is on Time Warner and still don't have the Mtn. Because if this, there are games that I can't watch.
So tell me if this is the truth:
"Unfortunately, Maffei is wrong again since the current TV deal is only four years old. San Diego State students, faculty, fans and alumni all over the world get more television exposure of Aztec sports than ever before."
I am a San Diego TWC customer. Is it not true that I have less football and basketball games available to me today than I did prior to the Mtn? Channel 4 covered everything before (at least for hoops) and even had the excellent Aztec Report 30 minute show.

If you are still a Time Warner customer then you are an idiot. I left TW years ago. Shame on you for staying with a company that doesn't support their own city's college sports and refuses to put the Mtn on. I have no sympothy for you.

Direct TV on the coast is impossible with the marine layer. My advice, get a slingbox and a friend in the inland area. Or go to the All American Grill. I've had DTV for 3+ years and live a few blocks from the coast. Not a single interruption over that period.

It was horrible searching for satelite constantly while trying to watch a game. Glad it has worked for you, others have had similar problems as I have.
