Baylor has no shame. I could understand them clamoring to be included if they were even semi-good but their football team sucks ass yet they expect to make $20m a year just cuz they ride UT's coattails.

In Texas they understand. The power structure in Texas politics and business is about the four big schools and Baylor is very influential in both from an Alumni prestigue and giving standpoint. Baylor may be bad in football, compared to UT, but I'm afraid they are another team my Aztec's can beat, today that is.

Every conference nneds a few cupcakes to kick around, why can't that be SDSU? You don't want everyone beating up on each other, right?

What Texans apparently don't understand about Californians is they aren't going to let somebody in a 10-gallon hat push them around. Word is the Pac's offer not only doesn't include Baylor now, it never will so if Texas can't come without the Bears, Texas isn't coming. Word also is Baylor doesn't have the political clout it did in 1994 when Texas was bent on leaving the SWC. My prediction: Baylor will end up begging the MWC to no avail, then end up begging CUSA and end up there.

When the Big 12 came into being, Ann Richards was Governor and she was a Baylor alum. That's the only reason Baylor was invited. Texas politics are ugly as Hell and Steve having family in Okiehomie does not make him an expert on it. =Bob

So I know a little about it.

So I know a little about it. You may know a little, or even more than a little, but the political situation in Texas is not what it was when the Big 12 was formed. The only reason Baylor got an invite was because Ann Richards demanding it. Given that, and since she's moldering in her grave these days, it's a bit questionable whether Baylor still has the political clout they had then and even more questionable to state that Texans protect Texans when the other three were willing to leave Baylor in the dust back in '94 had Richards not stepped in. =Bob

Here's another scenario..MWC Faithful think about this....the conferences are making their moves. Colorado leaves big 12, to go to pac 10... nebraska goes to big 10...Mwc adds boise st. and lets wyoming & air force go...big 12 lets iowa st and missouri go. The mountain west should merge with big 12 and have a Super Conference with two divisions west, southwest or north and south, whatever you want to call them.
West
bsu byu colo st n mex sdsu tcu unlv utah
Southwest
ut ou tx tec tx am osu baylor kan k st
If we let teams like tex, ou,tex am, tx tec, osu etc. go to the pac 10, were setting ourselves up for the same thing we currently have. If we dont do this, other conferences are going to realign and the mwc could get left out in the wind... Mwc commissioner should make a move! This could be great for SDSU! This will be a great football, basketbal & baseball conference...Yahooo! Get it out there!
