Interesting quote... 3. I posted my Top 25 (and one) before Washington's 92-71 win at California late Sunday, which means I didn't consider the Huskies for the updated rankings. Felt OK about it until I got the following Tweet from Cal director of basketball operations John Montgomery. "I'd reconsider leaving Washington out. Best team we've played all year -- over San Diego State, Kansas, Notre Dame and Temple."
Is it just a case of a PAC school lobbying for another PAC school to be relevant --to have any PAC team relevant? Or does Montgomery truely believe UW is better than SDSU and Kansas? I've heard Washington is solid. I haven't watched any of their games.

No doubt. Pimping your conference schools is expected, if lame.

Montgummery, like every other BCS coach, will never admit that SDSU is bi-time. We will have to continue to prove it on the floor, all the way deep into the Big Dance.

Uduh was on fire, couldn't miss a 3, and Cal was slow on defense. Too many uncontested shots for uduh!

Another great quote:
"In related news, I'm headed to Provo next week."

Washington is a legitimately good team, but they are NOT better than us or Kansas. They have a ton of talent and depth in addition to one of the best guards in the country in Isaiah Thomas. I could easily see them reaching the Sweet Sixteen in the tournament. However, their chance to go deep in the tournament took a big hit when Abdul Gaddy tore his ACL.

I went to the Cal game and they have a pretty weak team this year. I'd love to see us play Washington and I know that would be a tough game for us.

From talking to an avid UW fan I understand they have trouble rebounding and have a thin frontcourt. Sounds like the kind of team SDSU could beat to me...

Maybe UW would have been a good game to have on this years non-conference schedule. Assuming we win, would a game like that help with our NCAA tourney seeding?
Oh well, it's a moot point.

Not that I don't have any faith, but we all know its 5 against 8 in Provo. I can just see it now - all of the national media will show up for our game there, and 1 of 3 things will happen. 1. We win despite the refs. 2. We lose and the national media finds out why BYU always wins at home - the refs. 3. We have a bad outing and the national media like this guy (who says he will be there) falls in love with BYU, even though I know we will be the better team in the NCAA tourney.
The problem with 2 or 3 is we HAVE to then beat them at home, or they will get the higher seed in the tourney and stay out West, while we get shipped back east, where anything can happen, like facing a tough Big East team in the second round in their own backyard.

There was a stretch last night where UW didn't have to rebound they hit about 8 straight shots! They were 70% from 3 for a while in the game!

I watched Washington vs. Kentucky in opening season Hawaii tournament + one other time - can't remember the opponent. There's no denying they have talent. But they played less like a team and more like a thrown together high school all-star team - all isolation one-on-one stuff. They also played like thugs - stepping over people and staring down at them when they'd fallen, getting in peoples' faces. It looked bad. Plus, there's this news: blogs.seattleweekly.com/dailyweekly/2011/01/uw_basketball_player_accused_of_rape_facebook.php

Yes there is an alleged "rape" of a 16 year old being investigated by the SPD. So far nothing has come out and the SPD is conducting a thorough & diligent investigation. At this rate it looks like the findings may come out after the NCAA tournament!

No team that looses to Stanford is better than State.
