Nothing Lame about it. Its absolutely awesome we're a legit top 10 team and wouldn't have expected Duke to drop more than a few spots.

Why the hell is Pitt still ranked above us? I think Pitt and Cuse play tonight though. Swear to god if Pitt wins and Cuse doesn't drop below us I will blow a gasket.

picked up 15 votes, or about half a point a polllster.
If every pollster voted us a 6 we'd have 620 votes, instead we have 633

Points picked up in the coaches poll while ranked 6 This week: 15 Last week: 18
So basically we could say every coach in one of the last two weeks has moved us up a spot on their ballot. Coaches are starting to buy in pretty stoutly.

We have a better road record (by far), more Top 50 wins, more marquee wins, better players and a better coaches than any of the teams ahead of us.
The things holding us back are SDSU (huh?) on our jerseys, East Coast bias (yes, it's real), and the mtn. obscurity.

Not happy about ONLY being rated #6 in the nation. That is a sure sign that Aztecs have arrived.

You gotta be kidding me...there's no doubt that duke is very good..but they should have been put behind all of the unbeatens...i think the AP will reflect that shortly tho.

can't find the whole ap, but the ballots are in and Duke got a 1st place ballot, sdsu got a 2, couple 3, some 4, but most occurring was a 7:http://www.pollspeak.com/pollstalker/pollstalker.php?s=14&p=29&v=&t1=84&w=11&r=T
Seth davis continues to refuse to move us off 10, the guy most dogging us has us at 10, and those are the 2 lowest

there are 31 voters and we have 633 points. Our average vote is 20.4 points per vote. You get 20 points for a 6th place vote and 21 for a 5th place vote. We are essentially getting 15 5th place votes and 16 6th place votes. I am just using averages, not sure how all voted.

Funny how one week most people on the board say rankings are meaningless then when they come out all panties are in a bunch! #6, #5, #4 makes a big difference to me but if they keep winning and beat byu (cheaters) the ranking will be out of this world! Keep it up, get some pub, make history and get a national championship for the aztec nation! We just need to get better with the free throws and its a possibility!

Win Wed and beat BYU in provo and all will take care of itself. Actually, it won't. I'm becoming convinced that the only way we start passing teams is when we're 25-0 and the current teams ahead of us start ringing up two and three losses. Otherwise, we'll just bounce between 4 and 6.

Win Wed and beat BYU in provo and all will take care of itself. Exactly. People who don't follow west coast basketball can say a lot of things now, but if we take down #10 BYU on the road it will silence all critics.
