The announcers are putting tremendous pressure on Strasburg comparing him to Walter Johnson. Lets up a HR No the announcers are just being complete and utter homers, I like Strasburg, but saying the thing that separates Strasburg from Ryan, Spann ect... is that he has a third out pitch is just utter ridiculous dude was amazing, but its 1 start.

Strasburg kicked some serious ass tonight!!! 14 strikeouts in 7 innings. He more than lived up to the hype and surpassed it. I am just really glad he is a humble guy and not cocky.

Little Phil, you really don't understand much about baseball, do you? The point isn't that he has at least 3 pitches, it's that he's 21, locates his pitches very well and he flat out roared through double A and triple A competition. But more to the point, you might want to check out what Curt Schilling has to say on the subject: tinyurl.com/2f3mtk9There's no question that sooner or later he'll get knocked around; all great pitchers do. But if he stays healthy, he has the potential to be one of the best, ever. NPR had a segment on him this morning and pointed out the Clemens had a 4.32 ERA his rookie year, underwent shoulder surgery in his 2nd year and had only 15 starts. But he came back in his 3rd year, went 24-4 and led Boston to the World Series. There are always a lot of variable when it comes to pitchers. He could try to come back to soon from an injury and blow his arm out, as Dizzy Dean and Randy Jones did. But the simple fact is this - at 21 he's got all the tools he needs to be successful. So no, it's not "only one start". It's what he does when he's on the mound. =Bob

Unreal... I've never watched a MLB game with such excitement. Every pitch I was on the edge of my seat. And that homerun was bull$#!+. That batter dug that ball from his ankles and flicked his bat at it. If the pitch wasn't thrown so hard, it would have never had enough to get out of the park. I'm just glad the Nats put some balls out of the park so he could get the win.
