If the students want to rush the court, so be it. But, I beg everyone when we are up by 10 with 13 seconds left in the game do not start chanting Ooover Raaated!
will say this, though. i got to see highlights of the sdsu-unlv game. the aztecs won, but showed absolutely no composure. a fight nearly broke out. if you ask me, it looks like the aztecs are ready to collapse. what better place for the snowflake to turn into a snowball than in the pit?
But, why would we need to rush the court? After all, we are the 2 time defending MWC Champs, and we have beat SDSU the last 2 times at The Pit. So why give SDSU any credit of us rushing the court like we have never accomplished such feat in our history?
We need to have an attitude that it is SDSU that needs to upset us. Personally, us beating SDSU is what I expect and don't see it is an upset, as we can be that good of a team. We certainly have the talent.
We are still the Champs, so we need to act as if we are.

Looks like the media in San Diego is already looking past us and on to BYU....I don't think the Aztecs will forget this trip to The Pit for a long time....after we give them their first loss of the year
I have confidance in our boys....someone is getting spanked and WE are doing the spanking this time.
GO LOBOS!!
GO LOBOS!!
First Half
Lobos up 5-4 with 15:36. Gordon with a nice swat of a Kawhi shot inside. Lobos shooting poorly to start, but then again so is SDSU. SDSU leads us in rebounds 8-3. Still early, but that's not a good sign.
quick call agaisnt Drew. wow, ticky tacky variety.
LOOking confident and composed,,,,,,,,PIT crowd sounds LOUD.
every body pumped,,,,,,,,AJ finally showing some attitude,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yes

15-13 SDSU. 7-0 run by Aztecs. Drew is coming back in. W/o Drew in the game, SDSU dominates the boards on us.
spoke too soon. From 10-8 in boards, SDSU is now up 17-8. 18-13. 12 point run by SDSU.
28-24 SDSU. 3:49 media timeout. KW to the line when game resumes. SDSU 20-16 edge on the boards. Thomas, Carlwell, and White all with 2 fouls. No lobos with more than 1 foul.
Bad omen. Half court shot.
except for those last couple of sdsu threes, we've played really solid defense. dj homo will cool off, and the lobos are gonna take this thing in the second half.
Fembone pointed out that Kawhi has a couple of frying pans for hands. No kidding. A couple of us here were commenting on the size of his mitts. Huge hands on that guy.
Second Half
Largest Lobo halftime deficit since the Oral Roberts game (11 points) last year.
Gay with 6 of his last 7 three pointers. Not one of Dairese's better defensive games I'm afraid to report.
Big comebacks all day,, time for 1 here..........
If someone were to tell me Gordon would break out and we only had 3 turnovers at this point, I would think we would be winning, not losing by ~15
Too good. This is one of those special nights where a team is playing as well as they can on both sides of the ball.
DJ Gay's career high is 25 against UNM last year. He's got 23 tonight.
Kawhi is such a brute (enormous strength) and at the same time he has a feathery touch. Incredible talent. Will be glad when he's playing in the NBA next year.
74-63. 3:15. UNM will have to pitch a shutout the rest of the way if they stand any chance of closing this gap.
Leonard fouls out. 19 and 15 on the night. not a bad night's work.
Lots of suprises in this game but maybe biggest is their back court significantly outplaying ours. Would have expected their front court to be their advantage, but wow Gay and Tapley had lights out game that is just way too much to overcome with what they have down low.
Well our guys shrunk and their guys stepped up... pretty disappointing. KW went down firing, maybe a little out of control but at least played aggressively
Sucks we lost, but at least it was to the #6 team in the country and not some bottom feeder in the league. Gordon was a freaking monster - looks like he is good to start and get significant minutes from here on out.
we lost to a great team, they are going to make some serious noise come March. We need to have everyone step up for big games like this, drew was awesome Gary was gary. now the rest of the team needs to step up.
Postgame
They are a great team and seem to be classy as well, IMO. I will pull for them hard to beat BYU this year. If their guards put on this kind of show then they should be able to take BYU. Leonard is the real deal and has a quiet and classy demeanor on the court.
I actually think we have a chance on beating them later in the season...I doubt they hit on threes like that again.

The real deal! Outside shooting coming on combined with the usual SDSU big time inside game a little too much for us tonight.
I believe though that if the Lobos full court press from the beginning, we win (wear down Gay). Alford had his hands tied with Jamal out though.
Good luck at BYU!

Key to really great teams is a day like this for them. We accomplished our game plan of going at the big guys and getting them in foul trouble. However Gay steps up huge as did Tapley and the season stays undefeated.
San Diego St is the best team to come through the Pit since Wake Forest and Chris Paul. They are a legit contender for everything this year, a awesome inside game and a good outside game.... BTW Gordon was a absolute beast tonight!
My opinion: If SDSU plays in the NCAA tourney like they did tonight, they are a potential Final Four team.
