Ha! Just back from the 5K and it was a lot of fun!! Great turnout, nice spread of pancakes, etc, afterward.
It would have been great had they been playing the fight song at the end of the run -- but that's something they can work on for next time.
Don't know what my time was yet -- Am assuming they'll post it on the SS5K website at some point. My guess is around 24 minutes. Ran the whole way -- didn't stop though I desperately wanted to -- especially in the sun and the sections where the manure fertilizer nearly knocked me on my ass. As I was leaving, I ran into the father of a Channel 6 reporter who wanted my parking spot so he could watch his daughter cover the race.
Overall, it was a nice tour of the campus.

Great run, always awesome to be back on campus, plus free Padres Tix, Free Aztec Tix, Free Haircut at Sport Clips, personally autographed Stras Photo, and best of all, post-race Gaglione Bro. Cheesesteaks, I finished in the top 10 or 15 people (wish I wasn't ill for the past three or so weeks, could have done a bit better). Hopefully they do it next year and mix in a 10k with a run up the Montezuma Mile!!!

I think I got aced out of the SportClips haircut -- haven't seen a coupon or anything -- as well as the Padre tickets. So I didn't get all the bang for my buck like the first 1,000 entrants did. But a t-shirt and the sense of contribution to the program -- as well as banging out a 5K sense of accomplishment -- were nice enough.

I must say what a fun morning. This by far was a great way to raise funds for aztec baseball and for those of you that missed it it was a great time. go a chance to talk to Tony for a few minutes in his office and he was looking good for what he's been thru. his spirit is amazing....

It was fun, perfect weather, festive atmosphere. Really just a great mix of very young to very old Aztec baseball fans. Spoke with several ecstatic coaches over the attendance, who were looking forward to next year when they'll have a little more time to promote the event, bring in some current and x Aztec milb & mlb pros and to increase it to a 10k. Combine this with a possible Nike sponsorship and this will become an awesome Aztec baseball tradition to start the season.
