40-1 to win the series?
That seems a little low considering what I have read here about all the off season stuff.

With their new Gonz-less lineup, they should be 100-1...

I think the thread starter said 40 to 1 so on that ratio:
2011 World Series Odds January 11, 2011 6:50 AM by GT Staff Copyright 2011 GamingToday 2011 World Series team Hilton M Lucky's Padres 100-1 30-1 60-1
I am not much of a bettor so Josh correct me if I am wrong.
Fractional odds like above is bet 1 dollar to win 100
or American odds like Josh states bet 100 dollars to win 10000 which if broken down to how much for 1 dollar is... 100 to 1.
on Josh's website the odds for the Red Sox are +500 - or the Phillies +180 - definitely not 500 to 1 or 180 to 1 or else someone would go broke.

So 40-1 must have been winning the NL. Still a little short in my book. How long before they come out with the over/under for wins? I made some bucks on that last year.

Stranger things have happened.
If this is going to happen, Latos needs to become a true Cy Young caliber pitcher while LeBlanc, Luebke and Richards deliver strong seasons.
The Pads also will need at least two of their young position players (Headley, Hundley, Venable, Maybin, Blanks) to have break out seasons.
Bullpen will be good, and defense should be improved with the addition of Maybin, Bartlett and Hudson.

On Bodog, the Padres are 20th out of the 30 MLB teams to win the World Series. I don't see how that is "short."
