I would be in favor of bringing Craft in as QB coach if Sipe leaves. Remember Craft can recruit well.

It doesn't matter what offense Craft runs nor whether or not Rocky is impressed with him. He simply isn't going to be hired by SDSU ever again. That is what they said about Gilbert after they stabbed him in the back thirty years ago. Since they stabbed Tom in the back, there is always that possibility. Tom was the greatest recruiter we ever had. If he was ever given the opportunity to coach his recruits as Juniors and Seniors, we would have had a very impressive record instead of the disgusting performance of Chuck Long. Thats what I think too. We would of done well in 06 but Long.....

I know of a former North County HS player who played and coached on Sundays who is letting Rocky know that he is available. It makes me think that there are LOTS of guys making themselves available. Rocky will have numerous good alternatives and is taking his time in doing it. I am comfortable with the decision in his hands.
BTW, I would not have a problem with Craft. (but it won't happen). Even though I was a ticket holder at the time I was not paying attention to the proset vs spread offense. Does he run the spread?
Where's Lugi?

The following two seasons, on the other hand (especially 2008), he has no excuse for.

Craft had a top 5 Offense Nationally when he was here. I find it very tough to fault his accomplishments as our OC.

I heard Hacksaw saying that and i was like NOOOOOO! I'll pass on that choice... ha. get it..."pass"... I love the current system of offense. Toughness in the run game, pro-style, play action. If i remember correctly, "air craft" was spreading it out and doing all these little screen passes in the red zone. ughhhh. the frustration of watching those games. POUND THE ROCK!!

No G-D bubble screens on the opponent's 10 yerd line.

If we have to go with a former Aztec quarterback, I cast my vote for Lon Sheriff. If the dude can assist in brain surgeries, I'm sure he'd know when the right time was to call a flanker screen. Good call but Lacks experience

I can assure you Rocky Long and the administration of SDSU want no part of Tom Craft.

Anybody who finds faults in Craft's accomplishments as an OC is doing by hate, rather than reality. Please take your opinions of your man-crush somewhere else. To avoid litigation I won't bother to get into details but I will say that this bull$#!+ about how Craft is a "SDSU Man" and therefore we have to have him is total crap. Figure it out, Bunky - WE DON'T WANT CRAFT. Craft is small time and we are done with small time. Had he stayed around as OC after he failed to recruit much of anyone during his 3 years under Tollner I might have a better opinion of him but the simple fact is this - he didn't recruit squat. Craft is nothing more than a successful JC coach and we are waaay beyond JC coaches. Feel free to have some BBQ with Craft, but please don't attempt to claim he is any sort of answer. =Bob
