I'm sorry, but I find it rather sad that we now have a coaching staff with a pretty damn decent record of rebuilding programs but people still want to whine. I not about to go all Pollyanna on this, but maybe we should give this coaching staff some time instead of dwelling in the past.

I love your coaching staff. They will right the ship. I really think you'll all do well this year...and next year, could be a magical season if you build off a bowl game season this year...with a senior QB....yikes! TCU will be rebuilding next year. BYU will have an up and comer QB...could improve dramatically from this year to next Utah ...will be pretty good (assuming they are still here) Boise St - will be a tough one (assuming they are here) ....SDSU should be in the title hunt or a contendor at the very least in 2011.

Wasn't directed toward you - just a general comment toward all the nay-sayers on here. I just get fed up - I mean really, the Cubs last World Series win was in 1908, but the fans keep hoping. Sadly, it seems the same people who bitch about "fair weather fans" are the same people who demand that everything be turned around in 2 years. I am an Aztec. I will always be an Aztec. One of the main reasons I convinced my mother that we should move out here from Northern New York in '67, when I was 17, was because I wanted to be an Aztec - and believe me, I did a lot of research on SDSU before I offered those arguments to my mother (my mother, God rest her soul, demanded decent arguments and for that I will forever thank her). I don't vote with my bucks - my bucks will always go to buying season tickets and I will await every new season with optimism. I really think that's something that's missing among the supposed "hard core fans". =Bob

It seems most of us have been burned by being hopeful before.
We're preparing ourselves for disappointment.

The only win I see in that bunch is Colorado St. and that will be tough. I have to disagree on CSU. 1. CSU was a perfect 0-8 in the Mountain West in 2009. 2. CSU loses all five of its starting offensive linemen. 3. CSU loses both of its starting wide receivers. 4. CSU's starting QB will likely be a true freshman; however talented, he will never have seen a 3-3-5. 5. SDSU has beaten CSU 4 of the last 5, the only loss being by just 4 points. I say we win that one comfortably. Comfortably??? Man SGF, comfortably and Aztec FB just don't seem to go hand in hand lately.

Good God, Cow Pollie x2 and the rest...Nothing is comfortable until we start hammering those patsies.

Needs to to that with many of the fans as well.

I am a die hard SDSU fan. And I LOVE the direction our program is going. Yeah, we've been burned by being too optimistic before, but so what? I think the facts of the situation on the ground show that this time it is real. Hoke is a no nonsence coach who is whipping this team into shape, into a winning mentality. If we can turn the corner and get the team to play every minute of every game, then we will win games we should, and win a few we shouldn't. That will push us into a bowl this year. Very doable!

t has been so long since we have been a winner that the fan base has almost totally disappeared. A good start next year and the more the general public gets to know no nonsense/ no BS Hoke and the fan base will statrt to return. Three years from now SDSU will be what Saturday nights in the fall are all about.

Needs to to that with many of the fans as well. My point is this - I don't care. Well, not completely true - I want to see wins, but I am not about to vote with my wallet when it comes to Aztec football. Until the day I die, or I'm too infirm to attend games, I will buy season tickets and I will be there pretty much every time they play. A quick look tells me that since '86 we've had 7 seasons where we would have been bowl eligible if there had been that many bowls then as there are now. $#!+, we had back to back 8 win seasons under Tollner and didn't go bowling because the WAC sucked and had only the Holiday Bowl tie-in. And yeah, it has been a rather long time since we were in a bowl game, but, as I've written before, it's quite recent that our conference has had multiple bowl game opportunities. Shoot, in '79, the year BYU blasted us, we finished at 8-3 but didn't get a bowl game because the only game open to the WAC was the Holiday Bowl. So yes, there is a lot of reasons to be frustrated, but it ain't like we've had losing seasons since the late '70s. And I'll be damned if I'm going to fore go my season tickets just because... Yeah, it's certainly time for the Aztecs to suck it up and get it right, but it's also time that we stop bitching, whining and moaning about what happened in the past and get on board. =Bob

Who here is going to be there? I can hear it now up in nose bleed territory: "Go Aztecs" "Fight On"

If I remember correctly six of the seven games leading up to Wyoming's game against us look to be pretty brutal. This might just be a time we beat them.

It's easy to relate to Bob and Oldie on this one. We need to give this staff a chance and they do seem to be doing things the right way. But, having been burned so many times it's hard to be optimistic. In the end it's a lot more fun for me to hope for wins and I do believe in this staff. I'm going to allow myself to get excited and believe we can go bowling (other than the toilet bowl) this year.
