According to ESP: Luke Gregerson leads the majors with 17 perfect relief appearances of at least one inning. His teammate Mike Adams is second with 15.
That is amazing. By contrast Heath Bell only has 4 innings where he didn't allow a base runner.
Gregerson (1.57) was acquired by trading Khalil Greene to St Louis. Adams (2.96) was acquired by trading Brian Sikorski to Cleveland. Bell (1.13) was acquired with Aztec Royce Ring from the Mets for Ben Johnson and right-hander Jon Adkins.
That is three great Towers trades. Below are a couple of more. There are a lot of teams that would love to have any of the 5 players listed here.
In addition:
Ryan Webb (1.15) was acquired from the "A"s for Scott Hairston. Joe Thatcher (1.74) was acquired from Milwaukee in the Linebrink trade. Thatcher is a Lefty specialist who is also good with righties. In 10.1 innings this year, he has allowed only 3 hits. Lefties are batting .083 against Thatcher. That is a great stat for a lefty specialist.

Bill wasn't it you who questioned me during spring training on the previous board about when I said it would be Gregerson in the 7th, Adams in the 8th and Bell in the 9th?

Too late to go back and look since all the posts are off the old board. I believe I thought those were the 3. I don't know who else I could have wanted.
