In the 1998 season Greg Vaughn started the year in a big slump. He came up in a situation where all he needed was a sac fly. He swung real easy and lifted a fly ball to the warning track to plate a critical run (it may have been a game winner. I can't remember). I really think that sac fly showed him that he didn't have to swing "for the fences" to hit home runs. He went on a tear and ended the year with 50 home runs.
Yesterday, Adrian only needed a sac fly to win the game. He did something he hadn't done in a real long time - hit an opposite field home run. His swing was a thing of beauty and not the over swing we have seen of late. I think, and hope, this will be the catalyst to the beginning of a hot streak. Of course, leaving Petco for a while will help a lot too.

Of course, leaving Petco for a while will help a lot too. 3 home runs in 4 games in Philly. When he hits those oppo home runs, it shows he is really dialed in. The home runs are coming now but he really started hitting better on May 17 after the Dodgers swept the Padres. In the 20 games since that series, AGon has hit: .350 BA .447 OBP .638 SLG 1.085 OPS That hot streak brought his season numbers from: .250 .366 .445 .811 #42 in NL To .288 .395 .519 .914 #8 in NL Welcome back AGon.
