Well, the whole squad was out at 6:00 AM today. I could not count how many as they were moving around a lot. ( guess I could have used the old cowboy method, count the number of legs and divide by two.) But I am sure there were at least 90 and they were being worked very hard. Seemsd like there was more size and speed than in previous years. Saw Kazee in a foot boot. I asked him if he would be ready by Fall and he said yes.

Seemed like there was more size and speed than in previous years. Not joking to say I've heard that for about 8 years running. Sure, let's make it 9.

Well, the last year under Craft and the 3 years under ole what's his name the team looked absurdly small, and if I'd attend a practice or at the scrimmage at the Q, it was noticeable they were not getting bigger and were not high D1 size, so i'm interested in the eyeball test

Saw one Spring Practice and focused on the DL and OL. On the DLine Lawson, Perry (JC kid) and Long looked to have solid size. The OL did not look big to me. I'm hoping the JC kids have a bit more heft to them.

Just as I was leaving I saw the quarterbacks rerceivers and backs run passing drills against the dbs. No coaches were involved. Lindley aeemed to be in charge.

Folks, in my best estimation for this football season that is rapidly approaching, WE GOT GAME. Hoke, in the timing of his career, needs to prove himself in the next couple of seasons. Otherwise, he may find himself stuck in the MWC for a time period that would be unacceptable to him, and I don't believe this is the place he sees himself walking away from in his final days as a HC in collegiate play, a decade or so from now. He will do what ever it takes to be successful, and I have thanks that this fury will take place at SDSU...

That is what I figured, it would be nice if he was co-chairing with some guys, if our center was whooping the o-line into shape (as he's our best lineman and a four year starter) if Brown (as our best overall player) was leading the skilled players; on defense I guess if Preston showed some initiative (not high on him despite his athletic gifts, dude seems to cheat, go under a lot of blocks and miss tackles by leaving his feet). We need more guys that (to use the horrid football cliche) start their own motor. Lindley seems to be one of those guys, but his first possession foibles of last year tell me he self-puts too much on his shoulders, need some other guys to sack up and take on some leadership.

I wonder if the olinemen are working out collectively rather than individually. No more carrying logs on the beach?

If he is successful, and we get into the BCS(which I believe will happen anyways), we will be able to keep him financially.
