Your point is well taken dav, but I'm more than happy to pay more for gas for: *Imposing a moratorium on oil and gas drilling *Issuing a new offshore drilling ban Of BHO's actions since taking office, these two have made me the happiest. Well, if they make you happy, are you going to thank Republicans as the troll who started this thread suggests? BHO takes action that causes the price of fuel to skyrocket, you like it, and when the public bitches about it... why, it's all the Republicans' fault. Do you think the general public is that stupid? Yes, I suppose you do.

Yes, I suppose you do. I never agreed with the OP, I only joined the thread to defend the ludicrous slam on the Carter admin. I am left-leaning, but I usually don't vote D or R and find the ridiculous finger pointing (when most of the time there's bi-partisan collusion on the issues that really matter, such as this one) laughable.

The important issue is that we are keeping most of our reserves in RESERVE.
If we have to pay Eight Dollars a gallon for Gas, so be it, just as long as we are burning the world's oil and not the Alaskan reserves. I keep on telling you guys that the massive oil field off of the north shore of Alaska is the world's richest. Delay tapping it for as long as possible.

We don't have to pay high prices or deplete our reserves if we develop our reserves but deplete the Oil from the Middle East and Venezuela. Delicate maneuver, but it is all about where you pump a fungible commodity.
