I suppose i could do the math, but i am wondering which conference has the best bowl record. The MWC ended up pretty good, if not for Utah they went undefeated....wonder what type of reasons the experts will have why the MWC's bowl record wasn't legit. I am hoping this year sparks some changes!

The SEC is 3-0 against the Little 10 and 0-3 against everyone else. They are thanking the BCS hierarchy for letting them play the Little 10. It is the only conference they can beat

True the Big Ten, (or Little 10 as you prefer) has a poor Bowl record, but Michigan St. & Penn St. were not exactly push overs. Alabama just happened to play one of their best games of the year against them. Florida beat Penn St., but at least Joe Pa's team made it somewhat respectable. The BCS "Boys" could argue that our conference Bowl record is suspect with wins by BYU over UTEP, and and even our victory over Navy. We can beat UTEP just about anytime they do not have a top notch football program. They are noted more for basketball. Navy had a good year, and they have a pretty good team, but still not the quality of the top Bowl teams this year they would say. The Big wins for our conference was Air force over Geo. Tech, and of course TCU over a very tough Wisconsin team.

Whether BCS or the traditional bowl system, the NCAA just gives up its interest in its major sport once the regular season is over and lets others have access to its teams. If I'm on a bowl committee I want the rich Midwest farmers leaving the snow to come and vacation in sunny Florida, AZ or SoCal too. So the bowls aren't about matching quality teams; they're chamber of commerce promotions. So Boise State, with one loss, goes from a potential BCS bowl to the Las Vegas bowl? We could do the same thing next year: nearly run the table, but lose to TCU or Boise State late, and boom, at 11-1 we're in the LV Bowl or back in the Poinsettia. Meanwhile, the Wolverines, who in the above scenario we beat, go to a New Year's Day bowl with a 7-5 record. But I get it because the system is not about determining who is for real, who's the best team and the strongest conference. It's about filling seats and hotel rooms and pulling TV ratings. Even without a playoff, I would love to see #5 vs #6 and 7 vs 8. Why is there any interest in Oklahoma vs UCONN, or all of these ranked teams playing unranked teams?

Its all relative....if we had the possibility of bcs games we would be able to land more 4 and 5 star players. Its a "good ol boys" club at the top, but they will continue to feel pressure if enough of us so-called mid majors make enough noise. Knowing that TCU is going to the Big Least, it can take a bite out of the little guys arguement so the little guy leaders need to step up and do there jobs and make the case for expanded bcs teams. I dont understand why 1 more game couldnt be added with 2 conference winners like the MWC winner and one other...even if it is set up that those 2 play eacher initially. Just get the MWC in the discussion....the players and coaches have done their part...now the school leaders need to do theirs!

so does that mean that the Sun Belt Conference wins the bowl challenge? No fair. We're a lock for second again. If only our BBall tourney results were as good as our bowl performances

I believe the bowl challenge will not include the Sun Belt...a minimum of 4 games is needed to qualify

I believe the bowl challenge will not include the Sun Belt...a minimum of 4 games is needed to qualify Here is what I found online: So if that is correct, the Sun Belt will win the trophy if Middle Tennessee wins its bowl game.
