Wow. The Oregon professor's comment that the University spends $150,000 per athlete while it costs $20,000 to educate one student is thought provoking. As is the balance of the article. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

After reviewing these numbers, where does Aztec football fall in? SDSU's Football budget is $9,584,060. Now compare that to the big spenders and you can easily see the disparity. SDSU's ENTIRE Athletic Budget is $32,082,827. Now compare that figure to the big spenders above for football only. For those wondering where I got my numbers from: ope.ed.gov/athletics/index.aspxThe figures used in the ESPN article were obtained from the government website above, which are the numbers that the schools themselves send in, obviously. Crazy, huh?

We have so many students and TCU does not.
Our advantage is our scholarships cost less or we could not compete. Our recruiting expense is also low. We do not need as much money to run our program so some BCS and TV money would go along way.
