What an amazing year 2010 has been for Aztec fans.
We've had our fair share of good, bad and ugly. It has definitely been interesting.
Vote for your top 3 stories up until Jan. 1, 2011.
If I missed anything pertinent to you, I apologize. Please vote "Other" and then write in the moment(s) in your post.

I think next year it will be the 1st NCAA win in basketball unless the football team goes to a BCS bowl - which is probably NOT going to happen (but boy would that be insane)!
I know the poll said this year, so it is a toss up between the bowl win & being ranked. The only thing is, being ranked doesn't mean too much if we dont win any games in March.

I had 3 that were pretty equal.
1. I voted for basketball at #7. Incredible.
2. First Bowl Game win in 41 years. Who would have thought 2 years ago (or even last year).
3. Fumble gate at BYU. Digusting and disturbing.

The amazing thing is that in most other years some of those stories would win, but this year they won't even come close. #7 is far and away the biggest story. This isn't just top 25. We're truly among the elite, as far as voter perception goes.

The Perfect Storm. Too much good news. Sort of like the drought-busting weather of late. Can't limit it to just three. We need a Top 10.
1. Aztecs win bowl game. (This is important because another two years of bad football would have doomed Aztec athletics both financially and in the community support department. Football is the lifeblood of SDSU athletics. If it's not healthy, nothing else is, either.)
2. SDSU hoops in the Top 10. (Unbelievable. This stuff just doesn't happen at State. We're in uncharted waters.)
3. Ron Fowler donating $5m to keep Coach Hoke. (See No. 1.)
4. SDSU hoops storms through MGC Tourney and comes within inches of beating Tenn in Big Dance. (A fabulous run by an outstanding team. In spite of the moral victory clause (again), the table is set for next season.)
5. SDSU beats Zags in Spokane. (Uncharted waters for SDSU sports at that point. We never win games that would get us over the hump. I was fully prepared for yet another moral victory. I was shocked when the buzzer sounded and we were on the right side of the point total.)
6. Strasburg signs huge deal and becomes toast of MLB (before fizzling.)
7. Zoobs Fumblegate. (Ridiculous and shameful for BYU. A Brinks robbery and Ponzi scheme con job rolled into one. Only silver lining is that it got the nation buzzing about Aztec football. We got more pub from that one event than anything over the previous decade combined.)
8. The passing of Don Coryell. (A legend. 'Nuff said. Again, Aztec football received national attention thanks to St. Don and his disciples: Madden, Gibbs, Fouts, et. al.
9. Women's hoops to the Sweet 16. (A great run by the women. More national attention for SDSU.)
10. Qualcomm Stadium floods day before Poinsettia Bowl. (This is an odd one, but hear me out. Not since Marshall Faulk has SDSU football received so much attention. This was international news. I had some buddies e-mail me from Europe and Afghanastan asking me about the upcoming game. All my relatives from around the country either called or e-mailed me asking if I was OK (assuming all of San Diego was underwater.) Said they'd seen it plastered all over CNN, the BBC and the Armed Services Network. People tuned into the game just to see what happened with the flooding. They were talking about Aztec football on the Today Show. Unreal.)
