The last paragraph in this L.A. Times story mentions there was a rather large sewage spill during the heavy rains in Santee that was still effecting OB five days later. "San Diego's Ocean Beach was still closed five days after an estimated 750,000-gallon spill. That incident occurred after Sycamore Creek in the suburb of Santee overflowed, flooding a wastewater pump station, forcing sewage out of manhole covers at a golf course, and sending it flowing into the San Diego River." I hope none of that made its way onto the playing field of the Q -- which resides midway between Santee and OB -- during those massive floods. I'm sure they probably tested it, and maybe sprayed it down with something to kill bacteria, etc. I hate to think that Ronnie Hillman's sock may have been more than just a "bit wet" -- and what kind of pathogens would that incredibly dirty jersey of Navy's Ricky Dobbs might be carrying after playing in a cess pool for three hours. Blech! www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-storm-pollution-20101228,0,3654018.story

I'm only guessing here, but I don't think any of that sewage water from the river actually got into the stadium. I'm thinking that all the water inside the stadium was rainwater and possibly groundwater from a rising water table. Just by looking at some of the pictures of the flooding that were posted here on AztecMesa, I don't believe the river water got high enough to actually flood into the stadium. So there really shouldn't have been any health problems with the wet field. Again, that's only a guess on my part.

So there really shouldn't have been any health problems with the wet field. Again, that's only a guess on my part. Yeah, that was sort of what I was figuring/hoping for as well. At least from the west end where I tailgated (and where wet mud was still evident in the parking lot) I noticed a pretty good slope running up to the stadium. What I don't know is if the same slope exists in the parking lot on the east side of the stadium -- where that giant tunnel opening exists in the east end zone. That east end zone is where I figured the river would have rushed in if it was going to do so. Seems to me, if memory serves, that the parking terrain is lower/flatter on that side of the stadium. But I do figure like you do -- most likely that it was a raising of the groundwater. But I don't know the terrain and circumstances well enough to totally preclude that the river rose up high enough to wash on into the Q under its own power.

The only thing that could pollute the field last week, would have been Navee, and after watching the Aztecs throttle those over-paid, governmental doormen, you'd have to say, THERE WAS POLLUTION ON THE FIELD!
Ick is right, "the Naval Ickies" who dress like doormen (at least that's better than those ayr farce janitors!).
Can't wait to see those Armee Nutcracker Suite toy soldiers next September, can you?

HAM Those "overpaid" government doormen, janitors, and toy soldiers as you say are most likely going into harms way for all of us. I don't think anyone expects all people to unconditionally love everything about the military but I don't think it is too much to ask to not refer to them as doormen, janitors, and toy soldiers. Get a freaking clue.

Alright, guys. This thread got yanked wide.
Let him off the hook. JOC's a little out there on his posts, and we all know his schtick (funny, and usually not-funny at all, try as he might) by now. I'm sure he didn't mean to offend every person that's ever put on the uniform. He's just having some fun with a conference rival.
Back to the OP... I haven't heard of any widespreak outbreak of some wicked malady on either team post-Point Bowl -- so I'd assume that the 100 yards of Q turf were clean.
