So I just graduated and since there is no gradfest in fall, I'm a little lost. Can somebody please tell me how to join the AAF. Thanks for thanks for the help. Looking forward to my next stage as an Aztec for Life.

It is now called "Aztec Club."
Your donations go directly to Aztecs Athletic scholarships for our student athletes. It is a charitable donation. Consult your tax advisor.
I'll bet that if you find a post on here from Dave L, you can click on his name to send him a private message and he will tell you all you need to know. Dave will probably wake up this morning and sniff out this post and answer right away.
Thank you for all of your support!
A whole generation of SDSU students may have been lost when our sports teams were struggling with mediocrity. This year, students are becoming Aztecs for Life. Perhaps we will get a few back from the past 20 years who are returning to the Mesa now that basketball and football are shooting stars again.

Send Dave L a PM... But, like SeaG said he probably sniffed this already and he should be knocking on your door soon.

Unfortunately, the Aztec Club hasn't psotted a website that you can join from and has MISSED all the people who are interested NOW! Another missed opportunity. I don't get it.

As you've noticed, the Aztec Club still needs to get more web-savvy... You can reach them by phone at 619-594-6444, but they are out of the office until after New Year's.
As mentioned, Dave L can hook you up with tons of useful info.

Anyone here is welcome to contact me anytime and I'll help in any way I can. I can get answers for almost anything and am usually pretty good getting results. I'm also not on any payroll and trust me...knowing more...I get even more frustrated than most of you. Best email for me on this site is: TheAztecInsider@gmail.com and I'm happy to give my phone number out once you contact me for anything. Here's a great guide that gives some good information out and info on Aztec Club starts on page 8. Aztec Fan Guide

I beg to differ. Maybe it's a small thing, but the link could read as Boise State's does: www.broncosports.com/However much I dislike the name, I understand why they had to change to the Aztec Club from the AAF. However, I don't understand why "DONATE" isn't written prominently on the site as Boise does it. If nothing else it's a reminder to those who aren't members of the Aztec Club that money from the state doesn't come close to paying for SDSU sports teams.

Everyone, I am new here but this post motivated me to actually sign up and comment. I have been having all sorts of trouble trying to join the Aztec club. i have 4 alumni that want to give money to the athletic program and i was in charge of getting information. Website is broken, no information out there. The season tickets still say AAF and have not updated to the Aztec club. I called and asked for a brochure to be sent to me. It is the same one posted earlier in the thread above. It took me a good week to that that email sent. Then I replied to the email and asked to get help setting up a monthly deduction. I had to email twice and then finally got a reply asking for my phone number again. This process started about a month ago. I just got a voice mail saying they would be out until after New years but that they would send me the form to set up monthly deductions. Listen, I know they must be busy and I am sure all sorts of people are trying to do the same thing, but can someone in that athletic department get on the ball and fix that website, get a quicker turnaround, and help out the people that are trying to give you money? We should be able to set up monthly deductions via website, and at least have information on the website. How about letting alumni that are at the games know about the Aztec club. I will call back after New Year's and get this set up but let me tell you, others will NOT be so patient and will just walk away with a lousy experience interacting with the athletic department. Folks might think that the Aztec club is only for the big rollers and not for the small donor. Just saying.

For all who are frustrated about trying to sign up for the Aztec Club, or for boosters like me who are frustrated that we are missing the best opportunities to add more supporters to the rolls, here's a way to get something going.
Email the Athletic Director directly. Please do it professionally, soberly (if possible) but firmly. It is ridiculous that there was no easy or direct way to join, whether it be a recent grad, bandwagonner or someone who just wanted to give something back after years of sitting on the sidelines. Lots of great things happening on the Mesa but when several here have tried, were frustrated that they couldn't push a button or two and become a member.
Unacceptable. Missed opportunity. Huge loss of revenue, especially for out-of-towners who have no desire to buy season tickets due to proximity.
So, register your concerns and dismay to Jim Sterk at: sterkaaa@mail.sdsu.edu feel free to mention you heard it on Aztec Mesa if you want. Make the point cogently and directly.

Let me say again that I will sign up for the Aztec club however long it takes me to do it. Thanks for the information, if anyone gets a reply from Jim Sterk please post it here. I think someone should tell us why we are missing opportunities to build the small donor fund base and making it so hard to do online giving. Just look at the website for the SDSU Alumni Association. You can sign up online, pay FOR MEMBERSHIP, register, and also pay for other events like the PB alumni reception. Why can't we do that with the AC?

Dave L is your man, if you're looking to sign up. He'll even listen to you bellyache about how lame the AAF/Aztec Club is in their un-quest to take your money. Right, Dave!?!?!?

On the SDSU Official Athletic Site, Sterk's e-mail is listed as:
adsdsu@mail.sdsu.edu
Might as well send your comments, concerns, and gripes to both e-mail addresses.
