Zuma arrives and the Football and basketball programs are having great years.....
Coincidence? I think not..... ;D
PS I thought we just needed another Zuma thread since there has not been one in what, 2-3 days?

good i'll followup with all the posts ive seen on other boards and in facebook:
fans asking what the hell was that lion/cougar doing out on the field, and people asking where was Monty? had to break the truth to them... Monty was eaten by some dude in a stuffed cat suit.

Walked up to us yesterday in the parking lot and tried to get a reaction. I told him to move on.

Ok, Ok, Steve... I am afraid you may be correct here with your premise of Zuma I was truly hoping Zuma was meant (as they said) a secondary Mascot. I do not think he looks ANYTHING like YBU's mascot. I actually like Zuma, and think absolutely nothing wrong with him IF IF IF he stays secondary. MONTY the original, ( I honestly do NOT like this new one - I just don't care for his headress) should be the Primary mascot. Last night I tried to find Zuma as often as I could. Truly hoping he was with and for the kids. This was not the case. If so he would have been in the stands, mingling with the Make a Wish kids, posing and hugging the kids in attendance, etc. I NEVER saw him in the stands (well except post game with the band). I have a friend who was part of the Make a Wish group and she said from what she recalls he NEVER came over to them. Steve, I am quickly converting to your side I want to like Zuma, I really do. BUT NOT IF HE REPLACES MONTY

Forgot to add....heard many, many Aztec fans wondering allowed, some quiet rudely...
Are they Midshipmen or goats? Have to think non-Aztec fans are going to think the same about us. Are they Aztecs or WildCats.

What we need is a real kick-ass Puma. Navy has a real goat, Texas has Bevo. A bad ass puma from the zoo would be sweet.

Zuma is a marbel spitting frog on Facebook. Ask any highschool or college age kid outside of San Diego who Zuma is and they won't even mention the ***** at SDSU.

It's true... I have to admit that since Zuma came along the teams have played very well... Of course, right before the season I moved into a new house and ever since I moved in the Aztec teams have played much better. Maybe it's not the giant cat thing... Maybe it's my new house! I had better never move!!! ;D

Yeah, you can make a co-relationship between winning and the usage of Zuma, even though he entered the fray almost ten years ago and didn't have any impact then. Or you can make the co-relationship of winning and having a student "Aztec Warrior"
Yet, the most important relationship that I have seen of late is the hiring of coaches that want to win now. Is it luck tied to a mascot or just a shift of attitudes by the new coaches?
