Cal-Hi Sports California Player of the Year and All-State first team ... L.A. Daily News Player of the Year ... L.A. Times Back of the Year ... As a senior, he rushed for 2,210 yards and 39 touchdowns while leading his school to a second straight City Section Championship... Rushed for 6,695 career yards and scored 103 touchdowns, both City Section records Apparently considering Utah and Fresno St... Any chance SDSU is going to make a serious effort to land him? Kid can play some ball!

At this time, I just can't see the downside of bringing this guy in.
Lets go Aztecs!!!

We are stacked at RB and SDSU doesn't seem to be on the top of his list so I am not holding my breath on this one.

I also think we are pretty good right now at RB, but we don't have anyone as talented as Milton Knox.

Knox will have to sit out until 2011, so our 2010 seniors are irrelevant. As to non-seniors, other than Hillman and Kazee, there's just Williams, for whom 2011 will be his final year of eligibility, and Muema. Particularly considering Kazee and Muema are a bit banged up right now and may be injury prone, I'm not sure I'd call having those two and Hillman being "stacked" at tailback for 2012 and 2013. I'm not expecting to get Knox either, but we would be making a mistake not to give the kid a call or two.

We are good this year, and I think a good start for the following year is Kazee, Muema, Hillman. You add a JC guy or a good HS running back to that during recruiting, I would say we would be stacked that season too. As I said though, we don't have anyone as good as Knox. We should be on him.

Did we try to recruit him out of high school?

Did we try to recruit him out of high school? I don't think so, but not totally sure.

What are the circumstances that are causing him to move on from UCLA? What are the credentials of the guys who are getting the majority of the reps? Were they more highly recruited than Knox? Maybe he just stopped developing or has an attitude problem. Does anyone have any inside info? If Hoke goes after him we will have an indication that he would help us. If not, I think that Hoke knows best.

We are stacked at RB and SDSU doesn't seem to be on the top of his list so I am not holding my breath on this one. I guess I would like to see the backfield perform on the field before I decide we are stacked, but I do believe that Hoke did address a position of need.

Outside of the risk of bringing in a malcontent (which I am sure Hoke would seriously vet prior to), I don't see how bringing in another RB would hurt. Even if he doesn't play a snap at RB he could be useful on special teams at the very least. I mean the kid "reportedly" runs a 4.5 and weighs close to 200 lbs. Furthermore, he is less of a risk as his scholly would expire in 2012 so we would only be committing three full years to him (two to play) - similar to bringing in a JC guy.
But I'll defer to Hoke as it is his call...

Then our chances in landing him are slim and none.

The question is, is our staff even going after him at all?
As nice as it would be to land this guy if we aren't trying it won't happen. Has there been any indication anywhere that Hoke and Co. are interested in him?

Hoke, Long, and Borges are tight lipped. Based on their behavior to date it would be inconsistent if they haven't at least made contact.
The problem is this kid still still has delusions of grandeur. If he goes MWC its going to be the Big 3 only. To persuade him otherwise would be quite a feat. I'm not saying Hoke and gang can't do it. It's just that the odds aren't good.

It's been a long time since we landed a nationally-ranked headline-grabbing recruit. Seale and flip-flops Moose and Bray were close but no cigar.
