This Hoops season is one for the ages. People will be talking about it for ever. It may not happen again for a very long time, if ever.

I am enjoying the run. I want at least one tourney win. We will continue to be good. I am not sure about better than this team at least for a little while.
Crossing the fingers that we see another season of kawhi.

Our chances in the tourney for that first win should be pretty good with what I am expecting to be a pretty high seeding. This year has the potential to exceed our highest expectations. Anybody not on board now will be missing out and asking themselves what happened.

One year ago we were starting a season after losing 4 starters. I thought it would take a while to get back, but we never left.

Recruiting should take another major jump over the next couple of years.
Every player in the nation knows us right now. Not so 2 years ago.

The team will continue to be good, but seasons like this one, with so many talented seniors returning and a special player like Kawhi starting to hit his stride, such seasons are rare for any school and doubly rare at schools outside of the BCS conferences or simply outside of the traditional basketball powers. Enjoy it and support it.

It's so much fun to be watching a bb game on espn and see #11 SDSU scroll across the screen. Amazing to think that EVERY college fan in the whole nation sees that also and is aware of us. I'm just eating it up. The sellouts, the blogs, the whole thing; Wow!

I agree about enjoying the journey. It can end really abruptly. Even though we were the underdog, I was grief stricken for a few days after we lost to Tennessee in the tourney last year! I didn't expect us to win, but I just didn't want the season to end.
So, rather than focus on what we might accomplish, I'm looking at what we have already accomplished:
* 12-0
* Beat Gonzaga at Gonzaga
* Went 3-0 in that crazy stretch of St. Mary's, Wichita, and @cal
* Ranked #10 in the nation
Are you kidding me?

Whether we quickly or slowly return to the greatness that is this season, the beauty of it is the fact that it is our FIRST taste of greatness. You never forget your first, and it will always be special. I agree, enjoy every minute of it.

Great season...and we haven't even made it into conferene play yet! Now just find a way to get off the MTN Channel, and let the world SEE US!
Worst thing the MTN West Conference ever did, was to create the MTN Channel.
This team deserves to be seen!

Because you know exactly what our team will look like in 2-3 years? You have no idea. Next year looks really tough to have a year like this, but to say no chance in 2-3 years, is clueless. You have no idea what this year will do for us talent-wise, no realistic idea of what our team will be in 2-3 years (besides being absolutely loaded at guard). I'm not counting on it yet, and I'm enjoying every minute now, but I'm smart enough to know that I don't know exactly where we will be in the future. |
