Love Thomas' game. So smooth and composed. Thomas and Dent are both awesome players. It's a shame if he misses our rematch in Vegas... but if he is out, it should ensure an Aztec victory!

After the second SJSU game, I'm never gonna feel relaxed because a top guy is out 😂 I haven't been relaxed about a top guy being out since 1969 when my Rams were playing the Colts, and Johnny Unitas was a late scratch due to an injury. The Rams were heavily favored as a result, but then some guy named Earl Morrall came in and clocked the Rams. Morral was a backup to both Unitas and Bob Griese and went 33-4-1 as the No. 2 QB for both the Colts and Dolphins (just looked it up.)

First thing that came to my mind was Earl Morrall was the guy that came in when Griese got hurt in their perfect season. I was a little grom that was totally into football then, just looked it up and saw that it was over 50 years ago! Boy am I old! Sorry for the attempted hijack of post, I blame LTB for it this time.

CSU is At UNLV 2/22
SDSU At UNLV 3/4 - so UNLV will have gotten used to playing without him
Lobos play UNLV at home 3/7
USU & BSU have already played UNLV twice

Aside from New Mexico and USU, the at UNLV game was probably our 3rd most difficult remaining game. This makes it much easier.

I haven’t been relaxed when a top guy was out since the Chargers were the #1 seed in the AFC in 1979 and playing Houston in a home playoff game. Earl Campbell, Dan Pastorini and Kenny Burroughs sat that day. Fouts proceeded to throw 5 interceptions and we lost 17-14. That was the year we beat Pittsburgh 35-7 on MNF who won the Super Bowl that year and their opponent the LA Rams. Still not over it. Worse loss than the 2006 Marlon McCree New England debacle.

I'm older than most posters (except the very oldest) and I began watching Don Coryell's team in about 1956 and basketball around '62. I remember us being in the PCAA
but have no memory of any basketball coach before Tim Vezie. I remember games at Peterson Gym and at the Sports Arena (for many years) but most of all that is just a
blur. Kudos to all you old guys that can remember Aztec events from 50 and 60 years ago - I sure can't. I am NEVER at ease until time has completely run out and we have
the victory sown up. It's not just us - I have watched many very good teams inexplicably unable to maintain a huge lead only to lose in the waning seconds. When it's
truly over and in the books - THEN I can relax. Go Aztecs!

Go Aztecs! You rang? I'll be 80 before basketball season is completely over. sigh
The head basketball coach before Tim Vezie was Dick Davis. Tim was Dick's #1 assistant. I've always been convinced that Dick announced he was leaving so close to the new season so that the Aztecs had little choice but appoint Tim as the new head coach. Tim was a pretty good coach but I've always believed he would have benefited from another couple years as and assistant. Then he could have been a very good coach.
The head coach before Dick Davis was the long time coach George Ziegenfuss (1948 - 1969, I had to look up what years he was here). He was the head coach during my time as a student as San Diego State (1963-1967).
I remember much of the old days better than what happened 5 years ago with the Aztecs, or what I had for supper last night.

so who knows how long he will be out ?
SDSU does not play UNLV until 3/4
would also guess that the UNLV HC could be on the hot seat
