Interesting how Vegas has us as 13.5 and even 16 pt favorites...My assumption is that if they figured we were all healthy, the spread would be almost 20....I am not a gambler, however, it sure seems if you could get as many as 16, you would almost have to take SB. I honestly thought that after their win at Vegas and our unknowns, we would have been favored by only about 8-10.

Smoke,
I think the fact Vegas shot so poorly in the loss to UCSB, that Vegas thinks thinkgs will even out against the Aztecs.

At this point, UCSB should be favored, not the Aztecs. Why? Because we played poorly against cal poly?

At this point, UCSB should be favored, not the Aztecs. Pure insanity. UCSB just got their first win over a ranked team since the early 90's. It could happen, but now expecting them to beat a top 10 team, back to back ranked teams on the road? We had one bad game without two starters, somehow shot 0-18 from 3 and STILL won. If we knew we'd go 0 for 18 again, than maybe UCSB would be favored. If we went even 5-18 Vs. Cal Poly, we win the game by 21.

At this point, UCSB should be favored, not the Aztecs. Ya dude, especially since we haven't lost an OOC home game in over two years.

At this point, UCSB should be favored, not the Aztecs. Of course. On the road, against the #10 team.

Play high level Aztec Basketball and we should be alright.
Anything less would be.. uncivilized.

I f Leonard and Tapley don't play, it could be dicey because that increases the playing time for others and takes away the advantage of having a rested bench...just sayin!

i think it will be a very close game. 2 of our starters are well below 100%, ucsb has 4 starters back from an ncaa tourney team and is the pre-season pick to win their conference championship. also, ucsb is going to come in with a lot of confidence after knocking off previously undefeated MW team, unlv on the road. i'm nervous about this game and hope that a raucus sellout crowd will pull us through.

I am sure that UCSB's victory over UNLV woke us up. Big mistake for UCSB. We are much more athletic than UNLV and it will show tonight.
Don't bet against the Aztecs!!!

Look at it another way. Is it likely the Aztecs come out flat again and go 0-18 from three-point territory? Doubt it. SDSU will be hungry tonight. Our length and shot blocking will give the Gauchos two leading scorers fits. I'd be shocked if they hit their season averages. I disagree with the UT's position this morning. The Aztecs will win this game on the defensive end, creating turnovers, and fast break opportunities. UCSB's match-up zone won't be the determining factor.

This game will play out much like the Cal game. Close in the first half and then POOF we'll be up by 20. It will be a route. Mark my words!
