Never understood how we never revived the Cabrillo Classic?? Now UCSD has Kansas,Florida, Wisconsin and Providence coming for the 2025 Rady's Children's Invitational. Always thought we missed the boat not bringing it back when we got good. It could/should of been tied to the Holiday Bowl and could play at either Viejas or the Sports Aroma. Now the ship has sailed, and think UCSD could become a powerhouse and start inviting itself to the tournament. They will have way more NIL money and out recruit us?

A Big West school is not going to out recruit us. I’m sorry, but that’s just ridiculous.

San Diego could be a huge draw for a really big basketball tournament if done right, time for SDSU to step up.

isn't it more important to stay in the T that provides additional NIL money for the team

Any team in the nation would drop everything to be in the Players Era Tournament and get a million in NIL funds with opportunity for more. Which is exactly what the Aztecs did along with the other teams. I don’t understand the NIL comment. Aztecs get invited to Maui, Wooden, etc. We’re not missing anything from not hosting our own tourney and frankly if a recruit were to go check out UCSD they’d probably be underwhelmed with an arena that fits 5k.

I think we can all be happy for UCSD. UCSD doesn't have football, so it sounds like the are becoming a basketball school, so to speak. Hopefully they will grow and become a strong rival for us.
