SDSU’s in the dumpster because of Hoke 2.0. SDSU is the dumpster fire because they lack NIL. UNLV has a the second best NIL in the MW. That and a good Coach are why they have succeeded the last two seasons. If they bring in a good Coach, they will be fine. State can be competitive with a lower NIL as long as they find a better Coach with a strong leadership personality. Stars will move on. However, a great Team and winning atmosphere will keep a kid around if the NIL is close. I don't think people will donate to NIL, especially in large numbers (people and/or bigger donations) until there is a much better program on the field in both performance and excitement. It's a Catch-22. The only thing that get this going will some big monied alums or local business interests that either are sold a vision (do we have people in our Athletic department that even know what a vision is?) that they believe SDSU football is important for the University and greater SD area... ... or the same type of potential donors get fed up with the dumpster fire/train wreck that has become Aztec football and find it almost necessary to get involved. Feels like we're looking for an almost miracle at this point given with College football has become.

If they hire Marion they are toast. They were super lucky that Odom brought several great players with him from Arkansas and MO. The MWC defensive player of the year this year is one. He also got lucky that Ricky White 1.) came to UNLV prior to Odom and 2.) stayed at UNLV after his QB from Hs left. This is a one-hit wonder deal and they need lightening to strike a second time in a row to hope they can remotely hope to somewhat sustain what they've had the past two years. Prospective HC's are going to be reticent given the deficits the athletic department has been running which force them to stay in the MWC for the quick cash infusion instead of the Pac. Why are they "toast" if they hire Marion?
