Really like the way we are pushing the ball after stops. I hope we can shoot like this vs the Zags No update by Byrd. Yes, good pace. Glad to see Dutch doing this since our strengths are guards. Tak playing very well. Shooting well, high energy, and making good passes and decisions with the rock. Compton and Taj looking like they are getting minutes in real games. Loving our depth. But we look subpar inside. |

Big differences between Div I and Div IIII… and Div I AZzzzzzzzztecs and Div I Zags… at least this season. Next week could be a complete reversal of the beat down tonight , but we’ll see.

Byrd walked down the handshake line in a boot. He seemed pretty good IMO.

Taj is no longer playing like a freshman.
He looked like Bron in the fast break.
Gwath's baby hook is unguardable inside, and that alley oop was at least a foot above the rim.

Taj looks like a man out there and not a freshman. His play is going to demand time in the rotation when it shrinks and Byrd and Waters come back.
He'd have a couple more assists if his teammates finished

There's going to be games where the 3 pointers aren't falling and we're going to need to rely on them down the stretch.

Against Gonzaga, that's where we may have to go to ball screens to free guys up. Then we will see more passes to the bigs. Against the zone, it was find the open shot and fire. I am incredibly disappointed in Heide thus far. Compton looks much better, as does JCJ. |

Gonzaga will be a different kind of beast next week. Already battle tested against Baylor, which ended in a beatdown, and against ASU, which was a slug fight.

I’m not sure if anyone else watched Coach Dutch’s post game press conference after UCSD. He talked and behaved in a way that was so different than he has for years! It was noticeable to me and I love it. But not sure if it’s a positive or negative. Anyone else see it?….what did you think? The Oxy post game presser impressed me. He's confident in himself and his Team. He knows what he has as a Team despite his telling us it's going to take time. Despite the injuries, he is confident in himself, his Staff, and his Team. I guess winning 30 games coupled with seven and UConn in the Tourney will do that for you. Also, his contrast in style to Lewis. Dutch constantly says "we". We have a lot to work on. We have to clean up the mistakes. We have to get better. Lewis is, it's my fault. I didn't prepare my Team. Dutch has a collective approach. We is him, his assistants, trainers, support staff, and players. With Lewis it's not a Team effort. It's him. |

Just a freaking fun game to watch....
I realize that going 0-4 over the next stretch is more likely than not.....
I was most impressed with our defensive intensity last evening....Up 45, the defense didn't seem to waiver...
