At least 3 of 5 snaps were on the ground and ONeil had to pick them up. This takes 1-2 secinds and completely ruins the timimg of a play. Doesn't Lewis have anyone who can snap the bal???

No, the offensive line is a collection of very inexperienced FBS level players. Let me be clear, there are FCS schools with better offensive lines. We lost a bunch of talent and replaced them with FCS and low level FBS players. The Aztec needs in the NIL/ transfer window is as follows: OL OL OL OL OL OL If we see more FCS and LOW FBS transfers in the off season, it will be rinse and repeat.

Besides the crappy transfers, #65 is also a penalty machine. WTF??

Thanks. Then he is basically learning on the job. Understandable.

as some of suggested the SDSU offense is going to have a very difficult time unless it has decent OL - a lesson Lewis should have learned while he was at Colorado
by the way Colorado is doing quite well with out Lewis
also the defense will only get better if they have a decent DL

Is that having a positive or negative effect on the offense?

of course the injuries to some of the OL hurts especially when even the first team OL is decent at best . so then when you go to your reserves things go from mediocre to even worse
As some have said do not care how good your skill players are if you do not have decent players in your OL you are in trouble
Lewis knew that when he was at Colorado and was relived of play calling
It also hurts when you are playing with an 'injured " QB that is having difficulty with mobility or even able to see over the DL
Yes the HC has to have a good QB but if a HC can not bring in decent OL or at least keep some of the older guys the team is going to be in trouble
Yes the sizzle of Aztec Fast sounds good but you have to have good OL to make it happen

We all knew that depth along both lines was a problem going into this season. The best player brought in for the O-line was Joseph Borjon, and he went down with a season ending injury in the first half of the first game. It will take at least 2 full traditional recruiting years to create a foundation of kids to build from which is even more important now with NIL. This year's class includes 5 signed o-line freshmen.

O-Linemen have been leaving this program for years...
Remember Josh Simmons, in particular,... he is a borderline 1st round draft pick this year...

That ain't happening with this Coaching Staff.

Not saying that coach Lewis doesn't have flaws but doesn't this mean anything to the naysayers? We are on our 4th dept chart OL in #65. I dont want to call him out too much as I'm sure he's trying his best. Losing Borjon really hurt.

That ain't happening with this Coaching Staff. You have to have people in the system for two years and keep drawing more in as people leave, either through graduation or the portal. I am going to give him 3 recruiting classes before making any decisions. But, calling for him to be fired now is just stupid because it isn't going to happen and such things don't help the program. Personally, I question whether you want the latter.

so what can Lewis do - to be able to get decent OL in the Portal or even HS players - what would be his selling points to players ?
It may have worked on the Aztec AD but not on potential players ?

Playing time for one. SDSU needs to get better athletically so if you have that, your chance of playing early is enhanced.
