Lewis is not going to be fired, but has a choice. Either modify the offense to suit the strengths of the team or play JT at QB. O’Neil is one dimensional, which is fine, just don’t have a one dimensional player run an offense that requires a dual threat QB. Either play JT or modify your scheme. JMO and most likely wrong. Exactly , he is using a run-pass offense with a QB who can't run. Either change the offense or the QB. I really think he should grab Ludwid as OC he is very experienced and good! But he probably will not. Lewis is like most fast talkers. They talk very fast to cover up the fact they don't know what they are talking about. The fact he can't (or chooses not to) rifle the ball is problematic when we are trying to spread a defense out with tunnels and quick tosses right off the snap. A "touch ball" QB is not showing to be what we need to be consistent. It is creating scenarios where we have to out-talent the opponent when we don't have the advantage that often. He either needs to get comfortable putting heat on the ball in certain scenarios, or scheme to the advantages he may have, which may mean abandoning the notion of speed offense if we continue to use him.

"I gotta do a better job, right?" Sean Lewis after every loss.

Both of those previous coaches did the roster rebuilding. 2 years of Hoke decimated our roster and then half of the team left. Lewis is going to get at least 3 seasons to turn it around so you guys better relax or you are going to have a stroke. We probably should have fired Coach Fisher half way through his first season at SDSU. I had no idea Coach Lewis won a national championship and coached his team to two more titles games before becoming SDSU's coach. Ridiculous comparison. Ok. We should have fired Hoke after he went 4-8 in his first season.

Giving him another season will mean the rebuild lasts an extra two years. New Mexico gives up a US Grant every week and we only put up 16. This is just Brady Ball at a faster pace. The program and the turf are a laughing stock. And, we as alumni, boosters and fans believe we are better than the Schools we left behind. JD is destroying the FB program and the basketball program will be next. He must go as well before we become the Stanford of the new PAC. I wish we could be as successful as Stanford has been and be in the leagues that Stanford has been in and have the money that Stanford has.

It’s going to get better. Nobody likes Losing. Coach Lewis and Staff will work their butts off to get it right. They are young and hungry. The same could not be said for Hoke 2.0. Watch O’Neil grow. He could end up as one of the best QB’s we have had since Lindley. Oneil is too small. He completes the short ones, but comes out off his shoes on long passes. And they are usually not accurate. Guy reminds me of chapman. He was a high school QB last season. You expect him to be a finished product?

I think the question of Lewis will be answered when we see which players and how many players bail at the end of the season. If crucial players leave then Lewis will fail. If they stay then he might succeed.

Maybe he could tell us how he is going to do a better job and what he is not doing now that he will do in the future. Platitudes and meaningless statements are not helpful.

The Lewis hire was universally praised by the experts. We aren’t throwing him overboard 9 games in.
If you don’t contribute to Aztec Link you are part of the problem. Join Aztec Link and be part of the solution so we can attract and retain quality players.
If you don’t join the Aztec Club, Aztec Link or have season tickets stop complaining and start contributing.

A post game press conference isn’t getting into those types of details. Listen to his weekly coaches show he goes into depth on what they do during the week.

Excellent idea but not everyone has the money to contribute to paying football players. And some choose to use what money they have to housing homeless veterans or feeding and clothing the needy. Not everyone can do both.

Everyone needs to calm down. Hoke left a mess. Half the roster is new Starting a true freshman QB Installing new systems on both sides of the ball There’s no quick fix in football. It’s going to take time whether you like it or not. Especially with the situation Lewis walked into. Everyone take a deep breath and watch the basketball team. Bronco Mendenhall says hello UNM has been pathetic for a decade and they will go Bowling this year. Lewis and JD are destroying the FB program right before our eyes and you argue patience ? You must be a sick and sadistic Aztec Football hater. Btw, would you buy tickets for this product ? UNM had one drive and two explosive plays… State easily could have won the game… but they didn’t… UNM is NOT GOING BOWLING… There are something like a dozen guys from last years te starting in the P4… he has a very young, inexperienced roster who have never played together… I wrote in the game thread that yesterday was a disaster… if we have games like that, this time next year, then we can worry…

They are supposed to be there for their education and get a degree. If they want money, go pro. Sorry. But I’ve had it with college sports. And I do prefer to give to charities instead today. Way more deserving.
