Growing pains, as expected. But the defense is really locked in, really fun to watch the rotations and communication. I wouldn't headbutt Miles Byrd, though.

I like Magoon's shot blocking abilities. He's like Nathan M who was a rim protector should anyone else on the floor get beat. Except he won't be playing 5 lurking protecting the rim like Nate. But he's going to get a ton of weak side, help side, and trailing blocks. |

I'm afraid McKinney will be this year's Trammell on defense but without the steals. Guys went right past him and he got two easy fouls. No way that kid is 6'0". Why aren't we going inside on them with our size. Will we EVER stop that around-the-perimeter-weave for the first 15 seconds of the shot clock? We'll rarely get an open 3 doing that. We have to go inside-out.
BJ needs to get more aggressive with his shooting but is all over whoever he's guarding.
Heide may start playing tentatively after that bad pass-breakaway-foul sequence that had Dutch stomping his foot.
Pharaoh is going to be very good.
Byrd needs to take over.
JCJ has some offensive potential and looks much better on defense than I thought he would.
Taj looks good on defense but kind of lost on offense.
Gwath will be so much fun to watch this year.

Really ugly and disjointed half.
UCSD's defense is good, but wow our offense is bad at rotating the ball to the weak side.
Taj and JCJ both have been half awful/half good.
I think putting Kimo in there at the end of the half was the right thing to do, probably should have been done earlier in the middle of that UCSD run.
Got to go with the experienced guards more in the second half.
Hopefully Byrd can stay out of foul trouble - we need Byrd for 16-20 minutes in the second half.
Compton looks good in Iso, I would give him more opportunity too, we need someone like him on the floor to get buckets.

Byrd and Boyd are ready for the season. Let's see who else shows up.
I'm also ready for Dutch to get over his weird "you can't play a guy with two fouls in the first half" hangup. He does it more than any coach; irrespective of position. It's annoying.

This stuff happens early in the season. Creighton was favored by 28 tonight @ home vs. UT Rio Grande Valley and were ahead 85-80 with 3:26 left. Ashworth made 8-8 FTS in the last 1:11 to give them a 99-86 win.
