Per UT/Zeigler tonight's lineup Starters :Boyd - BJ Davis ( Waters out because of his injured foot ) - Bryd - MG and JCJ with the reserves most likely McKinney - Kimmo Ferrari - Heide - Taj and Compton would also guess that other reserves would also get some PT
Dutcher was pleased the team did well without numerous experienced players in the UCLA closed scrimmage
Tonight is first time for fans who will attend the game to see in action the transfers and freshmen
Do not think there will be TV or even radio ?

Looks like barring injury we would be going into the season with a starting lineup of Boyd, Waters, Byrd, Gwath and JCJ.

Stan, thanks for posting this. I noticed you spell Byrd's name wrong 100% of the time - it's spelled Byrd, not Bryd. Think of a "bird" but replace the "i" with a "y." Just trying to help you out here. Related to that, I expect Byrd to breakout tis year, he has tons of energy on top of his athleticism and skill.

Heide on the bench is a minor surprise.

Heide on the bench is a minor surprise. Based on the reporting from the UCLA "scrimmage", Gwath was wildly inconsistent despite showing why the Staff is high on him. Me thinks Heide will either slide into the starting lineup by the NIL Tourney or he will be getting the majority of the minutes by then.

Heide on the bench is a minor surprise. You know the old saying around Aztec basketball. It isn't who starts, but who finishes. Someone once said that around these parts.

If "quite well", then I agree... Heide could replace MG and JCJ slides over to the 4 for Heide to play the 5. But as well-said by others: finishing > starting

Looks like barring injury we would be going into the season with a starting lineup of Boyd, Waters, Byrd, Gwath and JCJ. Waters is already injured, so it'll be either Davis or McKinney in his place. Tonight, Davis starts. We'll see what Dutch goes with when the real games start.

On team lacking in experience, I would be surprised for Dutch to go even less experienced with Gwath and no Heide. That said, "In Dutch I trust!"
