It seems as though the Spurs parted ways with Malachi…hopefully he gets to play somewhere…

Looks like he might be on their G-League team with Mensah, the Austin Spurs. The G-League doesn't start till Nov 8 so a lot could happen before that. As of now there might be 6 Aztecs in the G-League this year: Mensah Flynn McDanial Bradley LeDee Schackel

There's always the injury factor.

I'm shocked that McDaniel dropped so far so fast. He was the 7th-8th guy in Charlotte for a while. Heinitially signed a 4-year, $6,129,000 contract with Charlotte. Two weeks after he scored 26 points against the Celtic in January '23, he was traded to the 76ers. He played well for them the rest of the year, even shooting 40% from 3.
He then signed a two-year, $9,258,000 contract as a FA with Toronto. But he was under-utilized there, only playing in 50 games and averaging 10 minutes a game. He shot 18% from 3 and suddenly nobody wanted him. He was traded to Sacramento for cap space and almost immediately traded to San Antonio who released him. He'll get $4.6M to sit our this year if no one picks him up.

He's needs to work with a shot coach in his time as a FA, then get some workouts in with NBA teams.

The Raptors pretty much set him back to ground zero, it's going to be hard to bounce back.

These guys are good, but they are just never quite good enough. Kawhi and Michael Page made it. Joel Kramer, too. Jalen and Malachi came close - but apparently no cigarro… Jury may still be out on Nathan.
