Schmidt will do incredible things when he has what he needs to work with. He’s a definite upgrade. But man do I miss Doug Deakin.

True... yes, a "last minute" hire. But, IMO, actually a significant improvement over the "preferred" coach... based on Schmidt's previous tenure (https://goaztecs.com/news/2024/01/18/mike-schmidt-returns-to-sdsu-as-run-game-coordinator).

He was a last minute hire and he not a good online coach. He was the OLine coach here the last time they were good Really, they were good a run blocking in the I formation. Sucks ball pass protection. Then went to a running type of spread. Pass blocking got better. They were average. To a run blocking that sucks balls. Those are the facts. He never, I do mean never had both pass and run blocking be average or better. |

"and he not a good online coach" is shockingly wrong Yeah the online coach that been with Lewis since he been a HC. Know the system like the back of his hand. When he went to Colorado he specifically told Deion that O'Boyle need to be the Oline coach. If Northwestern didn’t offer more money he would still be here. Is Schmidt was so much an improvement why didn’t Lewis hire him first? Or why did Northwestern hire Schmidt as the Oline coach? Why didn’t Schmidt get hire by bigger schools? Yeah do let the facts hit you on the way out. Might what to look something up once in a while. |
