Paul, although I had read all of the quotes and comments from others around the country before, they had only a modicum of affect on me until now. You managed to structure your narrative in a way that created more impact on what SDSU has achieved. Good idea and great writing. Thank you.

I was reluctant to write it because I didn't have anything new quote wise to add. But, about an hour after publishing new quotes from JD Wicker and the Sac-12 that I was chasing came over. They are in the article now if you read it already.

Some seem to lament that the NuPAC isn't the OldPAC. Fair enough. But what was staying the MWC even if Oregon State and Washington State joined up going to get us? I never liked the MWC and never felt that we were valued there. Who knows what the future will bring but it will now be interesting to find out.

I have to believe that all the schools know they will get more money by going to new PAC12 than staying in the MWC.

This 6-Pac is SO much better than staying in the MWC. Huge upgrade. Add 2 better schools and drop all of the crap schools

Sack State aside, the hope for an AQ is valid. However, if that depends on any P4 team, forget it. They aren't going to do the new-old league any solids.

The more teams we add the harder it will be to find those that add value over the mean unless we go really bold and build a coast-to-coast conference to include UConn. Me, I would be very happy if the PAC added Memphis, Tulane, USF(FB)/Gonzaga and one other from UTSA, UNT or Rice. Of those three, I think UTSA has the most potential for growth.

It is kind of interesting that there is a push to elevate Sac State to the PAC 12. Teams at the level of Sac State are exactly what the PAC 12 is getting away from. The PAC 12 is going for the best of the rest non Power 4 teams available to position themselves clearly in the #5 spot. Sac State should keep pushing to elevate their program, though, much like we have seen with UCSD. It's good for California.
This is going to be quite the ride to see who the final membership is in the PAC 12. I hope this roll of the dice works and all the 6 PAC 12 team's homework will pay out like they are predicting. Fingers crossed.

Pretty sure the SAC State push raises the profile to get them out of the Big Sky, and into the Mountain West, and it would be nice to get Davis and Sac St, cross-town rivals into the FBS. UC Davis is all-ready planning on a on-campus stadium renovation, as is Sac State according to their plan. Does the MW backfill with FCS, or does it completely fall apart, between AAC, CUSA and FCS demotions. Without a TV contract and no clear path, Gloria has over-played her hand.

Sac State would have barely qualified a MWC target and the Pac is unrealistic for them. I think what they're doing is actually pretty smart. They are using an internal marketing strategy to create a public narrative that they are bigger or more important than they actually are, which then puts them in a position to maybe be more seriously considered for the lower tier conference bump to the MWC which is what they are actually probably hoping for. Prior to this, all speculation for MWC expansion had been on schools like UTEP, New Mexico State, North Dakota State and some of the Texas schools. I had not heard Sac St mentioned in the conversations. Maybe now they will be.

They are using the borrowed Interest of the PAC Rebuild to further their internal plan to move from FCS to FBS. *Generate Awareness: Most people haven't heard much of Sac State football (who are pretty good in the Big Sky) *Create Interest: What do they have to offer *Drive Intent: Show the go-to-market plan "Path to PAC" *Create Action: Get an FBS invite (PAC or MWC or other) *Increase Loyalty: Build up fan base with alumni, students, and community (expand base on TV)
